not really. he lauded sami and peter crouch. he said with those two in the box,it doesn't really matter what marking system you use.

and then he said that zonal worked before, and it doesn't now. which is correct, but it has more to do with the players than the system.

oh, and jamie redknapp is an utter, utter cunt.

by saying rafa manipulates the fans, he is showing a massive disrespect to our integrity and that's unforgivable, the rest of what he says is a load of ****e and not worth reading.

I stand by the fact that the MAJORITY of people agree with what Redknapp says:

                1. He says that the fans are firmly behind Benitez, but if we go out of Europe and lose to Everton, then fans may be swayed. I think most people would agree with this.
                2. He says that Fernando Torres won't want to play in Europa League next season. I can guarantee that that is true. All fans would agree.
                3. He says that if we don't get into the top 4 it will be a major problem. He is correct again and fans would agree.
                4. He says that there are "huge problems going on behind the scenes with the owners, but it is too easy to blame that. On the pitch the players are not playing well enough, that's a fact." Surely everyone would agree with this?
                5. And finally he says that we are having problems marking zonally (his opinion is that its because Crouch and Hyypia have left). I don't think anyone could argue with our set-peice problems.

The only contentious issue for me is when he says about Benitez manupulating the fans - which i don't think is true.

Torres had never kicked a Champions League ball in anger until he signed for us, so to assume he’d spit his dummy out over half a season in the EuroDisney Cup is ludicrous.

The zonal marking stuff is utter bollocks, as pointed out earlier we had no problems with set pieces last season without Crouch, and largely Sami. In fact the squad is the same, bar Aquilani for Alonso and Johnson for Arbeloa. So, again, Redknapp is talking ****.

The “manipulating the fans” stuff is unbelievable and beyond the pale. Redknapp can **** himself, the thick, arrogant cunt. Who does he think he is? His remarks about manipulating the supporters are totally insulting – he’s basically calling us all thick cunts who can’t make up their own minds and can be easily fooled. Well **** you Redknapp, **** you. Like Whelan, he’s burned his bridges as far as I’m concerned and he is not welcome to associate himself with Liverpool FC.

We aren't playing well but that's down to a few easily understood reasons. We've had far too many injuries, players out of form and we haven't been able to field a settled defence at all since the start of the season.

The majority of the fans are behind Rafa, even if we go out of Europe. The Europa league is not so glamorous but it still is a competition worth winning. I'm sure Torres would be delighted to have that fall back option instead of having none.

I'll say it again, we've got no ****ing god given right to win all trophies. And our values along the years have been to stick together through thick and thin, not just during the good times.

Redknapp is just a cunt enjoying his fat pay ticket each time he opens his 'allegedly' informed football mouth on Sky. How on earth that some of our own supposedly 'knowledgeable' supporters can fall for whatever this moron says is beyond me.

Firstly, I don't think Fernando Torres would spit his dummy out if he had to play in Europa League. That doesn't mean that he "wants" to play there though. He cleary "wants" to play Champions League football. For Redknapp to say Torres doesn't want to be playing in the Europa League is 100% true - and would be the same for every single one of our players.

Don't understand your point on zonal marking. You don't think we have a problem with it? And i don't think it did work fine last season, everytime we conceded a fk or a corner, we looked suspect. The system is not working, and needs to be addressed, that is not rocket-science. Roy Evans pretty much said this on LFCTV last night.

Zonal marking has worked perfectly since Rafa's been here so I don't understand how you can come up with how it doesn't work anymore. Look at the statistics, we haven't fielded a settled defence since the start of the season. We've been chopping and changing due to injuries and some players have not been at their best (Skrtel/Carra).

Again re:Europa cup/Champions league, I'm pretty sure every ****ing player wearing a LFC shirt would want to play the CL rather than the Europa, so I really cannot grasp your reasoning and what you're trying to say. Did you mean that the players took it easy and were half hearted (apart from Torres) in all our CL games this season?

                          Come again mate.

It is the execution of the system, not the system itself. Obviously it's not working at the moment but it's worked well for us for the best part of four years out of five. A good manager does not just ditch it in a knee-jerk reaction.

As for Torres, obviously he does not want to play in the UEFA Cup. That is so glaringly obvious that it goes without saying - so why did Redknapp say it? Because he loaded it with negative inferences way above and beyond the simple statement itself. He's ****-stirring, again. Simple as that.

The second part is obviously true but it is conceivable that zonal marking is more dependent on taller players than man to man. We have a fairly short team at present so we may need to adapt to that.
