You're right - he was signed for 5 years. Hopefully he will be able to get 30 mins here and there in the final year of his contract. After that we can offer him a pay-as-you-play contract

****ing hell, some people just need a kick up the backside on here.
Give Rafa a break? What the **** - he's hardly going to be reading this .

As I've said to you before - this is a forum where one expresses his/her opinions. If you don't like the opinions, then please refrain from attacking the individual.

And FYI, I do not like things being aimed at my backside. I'm not sure the same could be said about you though from the evidence of your posts.

Would you rather him come back early now and get injured becuse he is not fit and miss the next ten games or come in when fully fit and play the rest of the season?

Lets call a spade a spade, Rafa is not going to spend the guts of £20M on a player and keep him on the bench cos he feels like it. He's playing the slow game so that when he does come in, he'll have an impact and he'll perform in the way we all want him to.
No I think you're missing the point, how is he meant to adjust to the league when he doesnt even bloody play?

Which is why whould have, at the very least, thrown him on at 2-0 when the game was all but won.

I'm all for easing him in gently but this is starting to take the piss!

In case you have missed something which Rafa said 6 weeks ago and repeatedly stated on many occasions since (I'll put it in CAPITALS) - AQUILANI HAS FULLY RECOVERED FROM HIS INJURY. IT'S A CASE OF MATCH FITNESS. See Pablo1969's post above - he has hit the nail on the head.

How will ever get match fitness if he never plays? Why couldn't he have come on when we were 2 up.

And I ask you this: how do you think this whole affair has effected Aquilani's morale?

Get to **** you don't know more than the manager. The team is more important than one player.

Ok then PetePest - how do you propose a player should get match fitness then?

That's a really good point Rafa probably hasn't realised that. Suggest you send a letter to the club pointing this out to Rafa. I'm sure he'll be eternally grateful for your insight.

I don't care if he gets match fitness or not. The team is winning and it's not about Aquilani!!!

Rafa is trying to stabilise the team in terms of results. Now is not the time to experiment with Aquilani, 600% fit or not.
