but you need to think about who was on the bench to replace these players?

I dont what what is wrong with aquilani but I wish to god rafa would stop picking a player in his first team squad that clearly cant play else hed be on the pitch by now.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

johnson & reina are the only players to play near their level today
Nonsense, Kuyt has been **** all season, only good enough for the bench along with Benny, Riera and N'gog.

I'm glad i'm not in the trenches with you lot. ****ing drama queens. If N'gog had buried that chance he smacked against the crossbar, no-one would be on here bitching about Rafa and calling for his head.

I personally thought we were unlucky not to grab a winner as the game wore on. Was also pleased to see a clean sheet. Which has been a problem this season.

The problem is that in that time we've still had an average run in those 6 games, admittedly not as bad as earlier in the season, but given that that has already happened we can't afford anymore poor or even average patches.

Benayoun was one of our better players before he got injured

my point although seemingly obvious was that kuyt looks alright for holland and for us in europe because the pace of of the overall game is much slower. the premier league is about making quick decisions and having a lot less time on the ball. alas, dirk for all his good looks and exceptional technique, struggles with the pace of our game.

The team lacks confidence, simple as. A lack of confidence is down to the team not getting results. If we had a decent back up striker we would have got some of those results and would have more confidence.

Our team are a bit shaky because it seems they expect to concede every time the opposition have a set piece. But we've played against two very good teams from set plays now and have kept a clean sheet on both occasions. At least that's one positive.

Funny thing is, had we brought in a decent back up striker to Torres we would be looking at a very different league table and would still be in the Champions League. I have no doubt what so ever that the failure to splash the cash has cost us big time.
We didn't need to buy one.....If Raffa hadn't been all moody on Robbie Keane, he would have been filling in quit nicely I feel. The guy was liverpool through and through, and could easy have filled in for Nando during his injury and relieved some of the pressure.

Aqualini not playing but being on the bench is becoming a total joke at this stage. The guy is getting no game time, and when he does play the expectation on him will be immense.

Yes, the tie is over, but we have to play them anyway."

They would mate. Although I'd rather look at the positives from now on it's getting increasingly hard.

Stop looking at the IF's - the fact is we were woeful and drew. The whole world is questioning Rafa's ability to manage this team but yet Rafa can still no wrong in some red tinted eyes
