Lucas and Mascher cannot player well together.

We have very poor resources in attack and an inexperienced lad as a backup striker to the best in the world, that would be too much for a veteran to cope with, let alone Ngog.

I do not rate any of our central defenders as good enough to start in either Man Utd or Chelsea's line up.

We've persisted with wingers who do not have the quality to take us to the next level.

We've spent too much on squad fillers (not using the youth team enough) and not spent a high enough percentage of our budget on quality.

So I'd change Rafa.

I'd just like to have a settled period without any injuries. If we have changed anything in training that might be causing it then I would revert to whatever we were doing before.

Just a thought but in Guilleme Ballague's book (on the season we won the CL) there is talk that we aimed to peak for certain periods of the season and from Rafa's comments in the last few seasons I'm pretty sure we have continued with that and I think particularly around Christmas it has cost us as it was IIRC a period when we would be below peak (after the CL before the end of season push). I do wonder if any changes in training this season were made with the intention of evening things out a little.

...what would you change - just one thing.

For me, I would change having two defensive mids. Not controversial I know - dull in fact - but I would swap Lucas for Aqui. and give the lad remit to ferret forward. Nothing in particular against Lucas except that compared to Mascha he may as well stay at home.

Just don't see the point in two defensives. In fact it's barmy when you think about it. It hasn't stopped us conceding - are we that unsure about our defense?

Ahh, so you'd do exactly what Rafa spoke of doing when he bought Aquilani then? You do remember don't you? That interview where he said he would play Aquilani between Gerrard and Mascherano so he could link the defence, Masch et all, with the attack, Gerrard and Torres.

When Aquilani gets fully fit, you will get your wish.

I honestly think the club should start getting more strict on things like the fancards etc. If new fan's were able to go each week to the games, they would be much more excited to see the red's and the atmosphere would be great, but instead the same people trudge along week in week out trying to earn points for an important match where they'll fully support the club,
