I'm fine with the cautious approach, it's just overly cautious because if he's not fit to play an hour then he wouldn't have done so against Fiorentinal.

I thought he looked knackered after about half an hour in the Fiorentina game, (which wasn't a fast paced game) so I don't he's ready to start games yet, I think a few 30 mins etc is the way to go maybe a couple of 45mins if the games are going well, then when he can comfortably play 45mins we can play him from the start for an hour or so and build up from there. He's been out a long time it will be a while before he's able to play a full 90mins in the Premiership

The Fiorentina game was the perfect match for him...both teams assured of their future, he's used to the Italian pace and would know what to expect...completely different from the frenetic pace of the premier league, with it's crunching tackles and fast tempo...that Fiorentina match was basically like a slightly more competitve training match, with nothing riding on it.

you could see yesterday even in those 10 minutes that he is going to get the ball taken off him very easily to start with as the pace is so much quicker and he doesnt have the time on the ball like he did in Italy.

i seem to recall Alonso in his first couple of games struggled a little.

Someone mentioned that there's a clause in Aquliani's contract that means we pay 5mil if he STARTS a prem game before xmas. Sounds quite possible.

Aquilani though may not be the answer to LFC's problems and some people may be a little disappointed when he does start playing if you build him up in your head too much. He also spends most of his day's injured. He played about 60 games in 5 years at Roma.

But with 70 minutes against Fiorentina and 30ish against Arsenal, a home game against Wigan would have been ideal.

I was expecting to see him start against Arsenal, if he doesn't start the next one I'll be pissed off because we've been crying out for something different and we've got £20m worth of player sat on the bench looking bemused.

Was seeing a nice wee chick over the summer months but that went down the pan(she went back to uni and it all fell apart from there)
