I just dont see us matching City till the end of the season even with a few injuries they have the squad.

Under hughes i though 7th at best for them, now i think they will get 4th which will be disastrous not just for us but the rest of the PL as all the big names will go to city as they have champs league

It's just rotten luck if you ask me. Fowler, Owen, Torres...all of our best strikers, injured all the ****ing time.
They may not be out and out strikers as such, but most of the top teams play with 2 strikers, Man Utd Berbatov and Shrek, Man City with Tevez/Robinho and Bellamy, Chelse Anelka/Kalou and Drogba.

Torres is offered no protection and gets kicked all over the place because all the focus is on him. Add a partner alongside him and he'll naturally find more space.

i said it in another thread - before the injuries were announced - i think we are looking at 7th, with not even the europa league next year.

We are struggling to compete with the likes of villa, spurs and city, who will buoyed by this and all three will have a real push for 4th now. - I can't see all three throwing away the chance of breaking into the top 4. So at least one of them will push on.

        it reallu is that bad.

Yep, exactly right, it doesn't even bare thinking about. If they finish in the Champions League spot this year, I think we will fall behind them in the pecking order without a doubt, due to the players they will be able to attract offering top wages and top level football.

Wouldnt be so bad if we could get in a striker but the best we could afford is probably Eintracht Frankfurts 7th choice on loan.
to be fair- Juvhel Tsoumou looks like a good prospect right now

Sell Babel, Mascherano and Kuyt and replace with a top quality striker and a new left winger.

Down the right we can have Maxi and Bennayoun. Down the left we'll have Riera and ?

In the middle a mixture of Gerrard, Aquilani and Lucas.

                        Up front Torres and ?

I don't dislike Mascherano but I think his time with us will come to an end sooner rather than later anyway, so try and cash in now. We could probably get £20m for him. Kuyt and Babel £10m each and we have £40m to begin an little rebuilding for next season.

We'll get 4th, the way some of you are talking about ****ty, Villa and Spurs you'd have though they were all consistent winning teams?

How can we lose half of our games and still bein the race? Because we arent competing with big clubs, thay all have, do and will continue to drop points left right and centre. We'll be playing well before the end of the season and pick up virtually the same points as these amazingly consistent teams while playing ****.

Rafa changed our style because everyone complained about winning ugly. The majority is always wrong.
