I thought he was very good tonight, but before the stoke game whenever he played i always saw him as a liability. Whenever he was called into action i was slightly edgy as to whether he could cope.

Recently though he has been class, more of the same from the big fella.

Agree with the general sentiments of the thread. He has proven himself to be a very good fourth choice central defender.

I think he also highlights the fact that Agger-Skrtel may not be the future central defensive pair for LFC. In the long term, we do need someone who dominates aerially. A young Sami Hyppia would be nice

nothing like a bit of whole-hearted ****-em-up defending. him and carra last night were ****in possessed. more of that please.

He may not be the type of defender we want but he is the type of defender we need right now.

Aye, he's done very well the last couple of games and does indeed gives us a bit of that kind of commanding presence and bite, aerially especially.

He almost had me entering into a coronary with a couple of his 'casual' back passes to Pepe, but overall i've been pleased with him.

Good luck with that one. What rhymes with Kyrgiakos?

I can see him getting a few late headed goals due to the fact he'll put his head in where it hurts.
Also like has been mentioned, Skrtel seems to have re-found his game!
He didn't play, he was injured.

He made the half time tea.

He's doing well overall, especially when you consider what he cost.

Him, Maxi and N'Gog all for under £5m isn't bad at all. All three played their part last night.

I have been impressed with his fighting spirit last 2 games. But im not convinced by him at all. Im afraid that against better opposition he will again show his flaws and his lapses in concentration.

Hope Im wrong but I think he will struggle against the big teams

He may well do, (though he was supposed to get ripped apart yesterday due to Tottenham's supposed amazing football and pace) but as it stands his strengths make up for it. It's not as if he's keeping anyone stable out of the team, Agger has just been ripped to bits against Reading and has been pretty poor this season, same with Skrtel and quite often Carragher.

I'll take the aerial strength and a few problems on the deck as opposed to no aerial strength and problems on the deck that we had before he got in the team.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think he could be an ideal player to play against the more physical teams, the likes of Stoke, Bolton and Blackburn. Teams who launch balls into the box at every opportunity. In the games against better players he will get caught out but when you just want some crazy big guy to head balls out of the box I think he's the man

Yeah he could be useful against physical teams I guess. Hopefully he keeps up the aggression
