Personally, i didnt particularly like or dislike him.

I had the wisdom to take it for the pantomime that it was.

Not really because of rivarly but I appreciated how good a manager he was and can see through all of that.

I don't like Fergie whilst he's at United but I still think he's a great manager.

I didn't like Ronaldo when he played for them but I would have loved to see him play for Liverpool.

The essence of being a Liverpool fan is sticking behind its manager through thick and thin. That's the kind of ethos I was brought with, that's what makes this club and its community of fans so great.

I am sticking by him for now, as frustrating as things are.

My stance is that if he doesn't get 4th he should go.
If Mourinho came in after him, I wouldn't be up in arms about it.

Why would people be happy of giving him a 5 year contract when he's doing well then at the first hint of not achieving our objectives this season he should be deemed not good enough? I don't buy that kind of reasoning; the club has deemed good enough giving him a long term contract, therefore he should be backed to the hilt until this contract expires, at least.

I think it's fair to say that it should be a 2 way traffic.

Why do you assume that we all wanted him to be given that long term contract?

It's our first poor season under him. He has to be given another year.

In your opinion. You've been saying he should see out his four years, so is it another season now, or another four? If we finish 6th this year and 5th next year, you'll still be saying 'another year' wont you?

That wasnt the question i asked though.

I was referring to your comment

Why do you automatically assume that's the case for everyone?

Not for everyone obviously, but the majority of us are still behind Rafa. That was my point.

                      That's fair enough.

I would assume that those who were pleased with his new deal, would've felt that way on the proviso that he didnt turn a title challenging side into a massive pile of crap in just a few months.

He didn't turn this team into a pile of crap. They've lost all confidence in their abilities and I can't believe Rafa has shattered them to that point.

He's responsible for motivating the players and getting them believing again. Surely that is obvious to everyone? It's upto him to drag them out of the lull and get their heads up, make them want to play for the team and make them want to die for the cause. Mourinho does it, Ferguson does it. Even ****ing Moyes does it.

It seems like the poor team selections arent his responsibility. The poor systems arent either. Neither are poor signings. Nor is the team mentality.

With all these things not being down to the manager, this management lark must be a piece of piss. You apparently dont actually take responsibility for anything. And for £4m a year too.

                          Gissa job...

He's taken them on full front if you ask me and I'm talking about those same responsibilities that you're alluding at. I think we're out of our poor spell, but getting back to our best will take time.

The team which beat Spurs on Sunday played for the manager and they all were motivated enough, so that's a moot point if you ask me. Why they don't show it when they play away at Wolves then you have to ask the players, it was basically the same team which played.

It's his job to get it out of them on a full time basis mate, not just once a month. I hope you're right about us being out of our poor spell.

I think we are as we are more aggressive defensively and with Kyriagos in there, we seem to be more confident defending long punts aimed at the heart of our defence and at corners.

We have always been short of a quality playmaker upfront, one who could pierce a defence with a pass. This is the one player that Rafa has had trouble bringing to our club. Yossi seemed to be that type of player, but he's incredibly inconsistent.
