For you to get a more representative view of how popular or not Mourihno is at this club, try to take samples from different forums and come up with aggregated results. I think it would be close to 70-30 against.
If the owners cared about any kind of history, we wouldnt be in the current mess anyway.

He'd come here in a shot, i'm pretty convinced of that.

Regarding aggregated results, of the forums i read regularly, EST is the most emphatically anti Mourinho.

Maybe but Rafa is the one and only manager to have got under his skin really.

With Mourinho's ego, that might be even more of a reason to come to LFC and, as he would see it, outdo Rafa's achievements.

the current owners couldnt give a flying **** about our history and to be honest, i think its time we as a team stopped looking back to history too.

lets move on and that includes peoples opinions on jose. he is top manager of that only an idiot would argue. he has a big ego but thats what i want in my manager. he has a fantastic team spirit invoked in every team he manages. again something i want to see at lfc.

he would come to us of that there is no doubt. i dont understand people who oppose a successful manager taking control of us and potentially turning us into league winners.......something he has done every where he has managed.

"Chelsea and Liverpool are the clearest, most exaggerated example of the way football is going: very intense, very collective, very tactical, very physical, and very direct... The extreme control and seriousness with which both teams played the semi-final neutralised any creative licence, any moments of exquisite skill... Neither Mourinho nor Benitez made it as a player. That has made them channel all their vanity into coaching. Those who did not have the talent to make it as players do not believe in the talent of players, they do not believe in the ability to improvise in order to win football matches. In short, Benitez and Mourinho are exactly the kind of coaches that Benitez and Mourinho would have needed to have made it as players."
            - Jorge Valdano

At times Mourinho's charm has been offered as an excuse against his bullying and the character assassination. "He spoke his mind," his defenders said last week, but, for his own mental health, one hopes not. Saying what you think may be a sign of an independent man, but it can also be the markings of a sociopath.
            - Dion Fanning, after Jose Mourinho departs Chelsea, "The Irish Independent"

The longer Jose Mourinho goes on, and on, and on, the more difficult it is for me not to despise him and the set of values he's bringing to football.

Because Liverpool supporters generally have ethics and values, which are rather quickly being forgotten these days. That's what set us apart from the rest. History is important as it sets us up for greater things.

Living in the past is calling for people like Kenny, Roy Evans, Graeme Souness etc to come back, which is different to what you're saying.

Mourihno is a disgraceful cunt of the highest order, and I'm not talking about his managerial talents here. He doesn't have any respect whatsoever for his fellow managers and though I think he uses this to motivate himself, it still is out of order. I wouldn't mind him back in England for another club though, as I think it adds to the spice, but he should be nowhere near Anfield.

ah well, each to there own i guess. personally i would love him to be our manager but if you have a serious dislike for the man for whatever reason then so be it i guess.

If Rafa left he should be first choice, so I voted YES.

But I will give Rafa until the end of the season before deciding whether or not he should leave.

Pete, only the losers moan about respect. I don't remember Shankly being to respectful to opponents, his commnents about closing the curtains if Everton were in his back yard are famous, as is his comment about the two best teams in Liverpool being Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves.

Mourinho was loved by the Chav fans and he'd be loved here if he won things for the club. I don't care about anything else. Stop pretending we are such a humble club - we are not and have not been since Shankly took over.

He might be sweating on the fact that 40 odd % of the Liverpool fans on here want Mourinho, if things go tits up.

The fact that so many people are still loyal to rafa is touching and is a part of the reason why I think our club is special.

I love rafa. I have admired his persona, his dignity (mostly). I desperately wished he would be the one. However I think we are going backwards. I think the 2nd place finish may end up being viewed as a blip, an over achievement in the face of an ongoing inability to make a real go of winning the league.

The evidence is there for all to see. In the league over the whole of his reign we have mainly played unattractive, negative football. We give lesser teams far too much respect. I am sick of seeing each win as "turning the corner" to be followed by further evidence of decline in the next match.

I hope I am wrong but as I see it Rafa is a goner. I think he has lost the players and he is starting to lose the fans with his stubbornness. I also see evidence in his pitch side mannerisms and interviews that he knows his time is nearly up.

I know this issue divides us all greatly, as can be seen by the poll above but I think it is time for a serious debate about who should replace the boss.

I am deeply sorry to appear disloyal but this utter mediocrity cannot continue.

                              How serious?

If it isn't very serious then you could just read through the Rafa polls and threads.

If it's very serious then you need to PM PeteBest.
