Liverpool 2-0 Bolton -- Post match

Positive team sent out with the right intentions and we got a positive result. Really pleased to see some good performances today from Gerrard, Kryiagkos, Insua, Aquilani, Mascherano and Kuyt to name a few. Thought Gerrard and Kuyt in particular were impressive.

First half was a little scrappy but we played with the intent to attack throughout and probably could have scored a couple more goals. The extra attacker in central midfield made a big difference in getting the ball further up the park. Pleased today and hoping we stick with this set-up

      We're safe from relegation. Phew.
      Oh I don't know.

A much needed 3 points I thought we were much better today, we seemed to have worked on set piece delivery as that was much better than it has been. There were some good performances, I'm glad we went with the positive lineup and it worked, we could have had a few more given the chances we had. But 3 points is 3 points

Only heard a few minutes of the game on the radio, but reading the match thread today it looks as if a lot of our players did well.

Onwards and upwards, another three points which is exactly what we needed to keep the pressure on for 4th.

Interesting few weeks coming up now with everyone in the top 5/6 playing eachother over the next month.

It was an odd game - we played some neat football at times, but we were very wasteful in front of goal. I like N'gog, but he squandered some simple chances which emphasises the fact that we need a new striker. Gerrard looked sharper and Insua played well. Good result anyway, great to move into fourth place - let's make sure we stay in the top four now.

We're still a point behind Spurs aren't we?

Positives all round today, was really hoping for a much improved display and we got exactly that. We just need to be more clinical infront of goal and make sure we atleast take more opportunities to ease the pressure so that we can play our more natural flowing game.

Hopefully it will be a boost to confidence as we've got some difficult games coming up in the next few weeks.

That was a much better performance (although it couldn't have been much worse than last time out)

We looked to try and be positive, especially in the second half and there was certainly a welcome return to approaching his best form for Gerrard. I thought Mascher was MOM for me and his passing was very good overall.

Aquilani was trying things but unfortunately they weren't coming off and I don't know how much of an effect on what must be pretty low confidence being hauled off after just over an hour will have.

If a fit Torres had played today we'd have scored 6. Partly because Bolton weren't very good, but we put in some good balls and missed some pretty good chances.

All round that was reasonably encouraging I thought.

Not a convincing win but great to build on the confidence.

Aquilani still needs more games and Gerrard seems to be getting fitter each week.

Defence looked at bit mismatched at times and we may not got the same out of Insua when we play attacking teams away from home.

Great to get a home win and 3 points.

Ironically, both Burnley and Bolton could go down this season..

He's still getting back to full match fitness so things like that happen, but during a must win league game with a 1 goal lead swapping him for Lucas was for the good of the team.
