Happy to see the burning in Gerrard's eyes again, he was quite good today. Insua was immense and Kuyt played well. N'Gog was wasteful but being at the end of chances is a good start and he will score loads.

We played some nice football during today and this was helped by the fact that Bolton is not the same bunch of thugs as they were under Fa... Big Sam and they tried to play ball also.

Mention also to the Greek, good clearance from the empty goal

Im not saying I necessarily disagree with the decision - just that it won't help his confidence much.

But he didn't stop trying which is encouraging

Oh yeah, well still puts us in a much stronger position - we might not be playing brilliantly, but we're in good form.

We looked to try and be positive, especially in the second half and there was certainly a welcome return to approaching his best form for Gerrard. I thought Mascher was MOM for me and his passing was very good overall.

Aquilani was trying things but unfortunately they weren't coming off and I don't know how much of an effect on what must be pretty low confidence being hauled off after just over an hour will have.
I don't think that players confidence is so fragile that it will affect them being brought off in one game or by one poor performance. I think people read too much into things like this.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In the 2nd half we knocked the ball around in a way we haven't done for some time.

Indeed. The excitement of winning obviously affected my ability to add up.

No, but if its not at a very high starting point it wont help much

Not trying to shoot him down at all - must be very difficult for him, and he didn't try and hide when things didn't come off which is very encouraging

Not trying to throw a negative slant but the fact that most have chosen Insua and Kyriagkos as MoM on a 2-0 win at home to Bolton, could say a lot about the game.

Yeah agree with the above views. If Torres had played or any more experienced striker we would have scored more. Ngog is still young but he lacked a little aggression today.

It wasn't the slickest of performances but he it was much improved and Gerrard def looked alot fitter.

The addition of Aquilani added a whole new dimension I felt, more pace more creativity more movement. Did not agree with him being subbed so early but I hope it doesn't affect him

I thought Insua did well getting forward. He was overlapping on Riera well. My man of the match would have been somewhere between Gerrard and Kuyt though, probably Kuyt

I thought Lucas was very good when he came on too. Overall Insua was my man of the match

I don't think so at all. Insua is being nominated for what he offered going forward, and against Bolton you will always be tested through the middle and Krygiakos stood up to everything. Again.

Yep Lucas was good when he came on, far better than Aquilani who worryingly still looks a fish out of water. His passing was atrocious. He needs some confidence sharpish.

Good to hear some positive comments on the likes of Kuyt and Insua who have come in for a fair amount of stick recently.

Disappointing to read some of the garbage thrown around when N'Gog missed that chance. Although I've come to expect nothing better in these match threads

I didn't see when he came off but if he looked disappointed that's good, I wouldn't have thought his confidence would be that low, having been out injured for the best part of a year I'd think he'd just be glad to be playing again.
