I'm sure that Keane would've scored more goals given the same amount of chances as Ngog. Its like having a fight with one bruised arm, it may be bruised but it can still do a job, I'd take that over boxing with one tied behind my back.

We lost 7 million on Keane, and say 3 mill in wages. The cost of missing out on the CL next season because we're left with Ngog on his own for most of the season could be £30m+.

Not gauranteed I know, but Keane would've chipped in with quite a few more than Ngog, or at least playing the pair up front would've created more chances I'm sure of it.

I think the not buying another striker bit is more significant. Keane and voronin were not very good and we should have brought in someone instead. Maybe an older player with a proven record as a target man.

Keane is apparently not lighting the SPL on fire so I think we did good shipping him out ASAP, it's like when you play poker, you have to konw when to cut your losses........or something like that.

I tell you what why dont we sign every play rafa has sold coz it'll obviously turn us into a team who'll win the title listening to some odiots on here. keane cost 18m nogg £1.5m nogog is 19 keane is 31, whats ngogs goal ratio again and what was keanes while he was here I think you'll find ngog has been the better player and as for pongolle he scored about 3 golas for us and all of a sudden coz we lost a game people think he's the answer, some of you are so clueless, ngog played because he is good at holding the ball up has some skill can pass and doesnt let the ball go between his legs when hes tryin gto flick it into the net rather than just doing what any normal player would do and side foot it in,thats why keane was sold coz he was a champange charlie. you could argue with some of the chances keane missed in the game he played for us that if he'd of scored then we could of won the title.

I think it's a bit like when you sing, to yourself you sound in tune...and think everyone must be thinking the same, "what a great voice..should be on x-factor", except they're not....are they.

Some things don't really have an explanation, they just are what they are. That is one of those things.

I disagree I think even though Kuyt has hardly played in that position for 2 years he should still be chosen ahead of Ngog. Kuyt has a tendancy to be in the right place at the right time for his goals which tend to be tap ins, bundle ins, follow ups. That to me is exactly what we need at the moment.

This would be helped, I would like to think, by having a left midfielder/winger playing on the left and a right midfielder/winger playing on the right hopefully taking on defenders and getting the ball in to the box creating pressure and therefore creating mistakes, a bit like the Scum do.

I would also consider playing Ngog alongside Kuyt if Aquilani isn't fit/well as against the Arse.

I don't really disagree that Kuyt would in many situation be a better second choice striker, although the same applies to him that it does to N'gog and that is he can't be a lone striker - simply not skillful enough for that.

My answer to the question asked was that Kuyt is NOT our second choice striker as stipulated in the question, while many would perhaps like him to be, Rafa has chosen and sees it differently. So point being that it's wrong to wonder why our second choice striker plays RW, when he is clearly not a second choice striker but a first choice RW.

Sorry about that, you are quite correct when looking at the question precisely.

I answered your point with a general answer about Kuyt not being our second choice striker full stop rather than the fact that Rafa does not see him as being our second choice striker.

rafa certainly does certain things that raise a lot of questions but while he's in charge its his way or the heighway

I dont think people can slate ngog for his performance against the gunners because the lad tried pretty hard. Unfortunately, he isnt the finished article and to play up front on your own against vermaelen and gallas you need to be pretty special to actually achieve something.

He isnt special yet but that isnt to say that he couldnt become a decent player for us which im sure he can.

The frustration for me was that arsenal were there to be had and after being torn apart by united and beaten by chelsea they were low on confidence and for the first half they just didnt get their play together.

We should have taken advantage of that but we sat back and waited for a draw. Our tactics were too negative and some of rafa's decisions were also pretty hard to understand.

But this is his sixth year in charge and he's been baffling us from the start and ive no doubt that he will continue with his philosophy until the end whenever that is.

I dont get rafa but its clear that he is a defensive coach and a reactive one rather than a proactive one.
