Then they're probably stupid to spend that money knowing they'll be despondent again. If you don't like a product, simply don't buy it again. Either you're a supporter or you're not. Judging that there's that much to whine about the club these days I can understand that it's hard to take - or simply pay the lot to have an opportunity to whine more, as you'll be witnessing those frailties first hand, which again I can understand, is too much to bear.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostMaybe if you were spending the best part of £100 or more per game, you might understand why they get despondent at watching dire football.

what I remember from last nights game
Had a few pints before I got the game, it was cold so i had two coats a scarf and some gloves, I spent most of the first half getting unbelievably snug and warm, and was close to dozing off.
Everyone abusing the 10th official or what ever he was....."get of the pitch dickhead" etc
Half time I played naughts and crosses on my mates iphone
second half debated leaving at about 60 mins as we were told the birkenhead tunnel shuts at 10pm and my car was parked in Birkenhead
We scored with the only clear chance i can remember us creating.
That was the highlights.
the rest, well what the **** - where to start - riera had a shocker, we are so short of any real spark or creativity. They were as bad as i was expecting. Pacheco and maybe one or two others like i suggested yesterday should have started cause at least they would have shown at bit of hunger/desire to prove their worth. Babel too, i criticised the **** out of him, but he had a go last night - he is still ****ing clueless at times though
- but at least he was trying to get at them........and you can argue that he has had injuries, it takes time etc, but i'd be shocked if aquilani was still here by the end of next season at the latest.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

One giant slumberfest wasnt it?
Very true about them wronguns on the pitch. Nowt against them behind the line, but wondering on the pitch makes the whole thing a circus FFS.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

what confused me - what happens if he see's something - he didn't appear to be mic'd up, didn;t have a flag or whistle - does he just jump p and down waving his arms shouting "ref"Originally posted by PC Plod View PostOne giant slumberfest wasnt it?

unfortunately i agree. he seemed totally dejected at being taken off and i dont think he'll be here for much longer.Originally posted by PTP View Post........and you can argue that he has had injuries, it takes time etc, but i'd be shocked if aquilani was still here by the end of next season at the latest.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Pretty **** again. I could be wrong but have they not played many competitive matches as they're out of season at the moment?
I must echo others comments about aquilani, he's shown nothing to justify a 20m price tag. The odd nice ball once in a blue moon and thats it.
We just always fail to create much against defensive teams, we cant really complain about them as rafa made the blueprint. To hear our fans moan about teams who put 11 men behind the ball is embarrassing, hypocritical to say the least. We've done exactly that away in europe since rafa arrived.
We've got about as much chance of winning this as i have of visiting the moon. The first decent team we meet, we'll be out.Play Ball!!!!!!!

It really is that simple for you, is it?Originally posted by PeteBest View PostThen they're probably stupid to spend that money knowing they'll be despondent again. People cant turn it on and off like a tap. And when you're talking regular matchgoing folk, it's more like £100 x 25 odd home games per season.
It's easier to say 'well just dont go then' but that's not how a football supporter generally operates, you go almost as a rule and without rationalising it against performance or results.
Personally i didnt go last night, partly because i've already used up a fair portion of my time off from work and also because i cant justify the expense for that.
Not going though, isnt as easy a decision to make as that and those who pay their money are entitled to feel despondant at that kind of performance. It's great to say that everything in a supporter should be ideal and perfect, and that they shouldnt ever complain or feel let down, but in the real world, when we're talking about human beings instead of robots, it doesnt work that way.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

On the subject of Atmosphere..
How do they keep doing it at places like Portsmouth, clubs like that, that rarely win anything, ever ? Fair play to them i say, fans of smaller clubs that have little chance of winning trophies, yet sing their hearts out and support the players on the pitch whatever.
Pompey hadn't won a thing till the fa cup, yet the atmosphere there is/was always good.
LFC is creaking under the weight of expectation, expectation that was only heightened with the takeover.Last edited by Vermilion; 19-02-10, 11:40 AM.

Well left Bristol at 2pm and made it to Anfield at 8pm, ****ing M6.
However my boy saw a win in his first ever game, Reira was horrible, insipid and plain old really bad and I'm usually a supporter of his.
Aurellio kicked the ball out all night so if the Rev Leeroy Brown thinks thats composed then ok, Insua is nailed on to play against City and rightly so as he is our best Left Back.
Game only livened up when Babel and Pacheco came on and around me in the main stand the general opinion was if we were excited at Babel coming on it must be a terrible game.
We won, Ngog scored again, another cleen sheet, Pacheco looked promising again and I wonder how many glory hunters will become interested as we progress.
Support your club in every game ffs not just semi finals onwardsThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
