I dont care if they earn 10 k or 100k a week, it is still far to much to need resting, if they played everyday (90 minutes) I might give them the weekend off, but they dont, 90-180 minutes hard physical work per week, for a professional Athlete does not seem much to me.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI havent started anything. I'm just informing you that a player who earns £150k p/w doesnt have double the physical prowess or energy as one who earns £75k p/w.
Your notion that a player perhaps shouldnt need 'rest' because he may be on £100k p/w, is ludicrous.
The human body will deal with different levels of strenuous activity completely independently of how much it's owner is earning. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Do miners, soldiers or Police get rested when they work more than 20 hours per week?I am intrigued to hear that footballer does more physically then a miner, enlighten us King Craig.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostMaybe it riles you, but money has **** all to do with anything.
The human body doesnt become more immune, the more someone is paid.

That's not really the issue.Originally posted by kev776 View Postwhat other job in the world are you paid to rest because you look or feel tired ????
Being a professional footballer is nothing like 99% of 'normal' everyday jobs.
How many other jobs do you have 50,000 or more people paying around £40 to watch you 'at work' ?
How many other jobs tie people to their position of employment for 4 or 5 years?
Football is not like most 'normal' industry.
But one major similarity in pretty much all jobs, is that bosses make the decisions which they feel are best for their company - football included. Hence, players being rested.
There's nothing to whinge about, players will always be rested where a manager sees fit and i dont see why people get pissed off about it.
Where did i even mention england?Originally posted by Armchairkopite View PostDidn't you read the facts, he had a niggling knee injury.

England's got nothing to do with anything here.
Rooney was rested because Ferguson didnt see it as his major priority and felt it'd be best not to use him unnecessarily. As it was, Owen got injured, so it became necessary to use Rooney.
You were convinced he'd start, werent you?

According to Ferguson the manager of the football team Rooney would have started if he was 100%.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostHe was so injured, that he came on in the 1st half and won them the game
I cant talk to someone who belives that Heskey is as good a defensive midfielder as Alonso, its just nonsensicle,
