Thanjk you.

You have to ask if the exceeding their usual expectations is due to Redknapp or the money they spent, you could argue that Leeds exceeded their usual expectations for a few years under O'Leary, but was that due to his management or the money they spent.
Are Spurs doing any better under Redknapp than under previous managers? They had the season where they almost finished 4th but for the food poisoning incident. Their level has increased a bit because of the money they have had to spend, it's no coincidence that their increase in level has corresponded to a period of high spending
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
What's integrity got to do with how good a football manager he is?
John Terry is a superb defender, but clearly lacks integrity.
How are the two inter linked?
In the context of Portsmouth's current plight and Harry's involvement and indeed his legacy at the club, his integrity has a lot to do with how good a manager he has proven to be.
West Ham got relegated because they replaced Harry with Roeder.
Southampton were already ****ed when he came in.
Harry only spends the money he's given by the owners....but that seems to be ignored. Its always the mangers fault
As regards West Ham and Southampton i'm not qualified to talk so that may well be coincidental, you could be right there. But as for Portsmouth, let's just say I am privy to more info than that which is in the public domain and all I would say is don't completely dismiss Harry as the unknowing innocent in this tragedy.
from what they say the wage bill is bigger than the income not sure harry would have known the wages v income.
he may but i wouldnt bet 100% that he knew that. also if you have a rich benefactor who says he will bankroll the club then you assume they have the money to do what they say.
Harry is a good manager but nothing great but then not many are great its what sets them apart as great.

Not totally clear what you are saying. Is it don't dissmiss the notion that he is innocent i.e he's innocent, or don't dismiss him as being innocent i.e he may not be innocent? If you see what I mean.

I was trying to say don't dismiss him as being innocent or unknowing.
Apologies for being cryptic but we've been told not to discuss or comment about Portsmouth publicly As things are very sensitive at present so it's difficult for me to divulge anything with any kind of clarity. I don't even want to say on a public forum how it is I have come to know about the Pompey situation, although people on ST will know.
And he won Pompey the FA Cup and took them to europe, something else which is far beyond their usual expectations.
Who's totally ****ed up the club. Him and Storrie. And I don't buy the he only spends what he's given nonsense. He's got a brain (allegedly) and knows that Portsmouth couldn't possibly have generated enough cash to afford all the players he bought. At some point he should have realised it couldn't continue - oh yeah he did - he was lucky enough to be offered the Spurs job! Amazing luck!
'Arry is a decent enough manager but he isn't even approaching great.
But surely if there's money men there, they're the ones whose job it is to control the finances.
They set the budgets and the manager just works to what he's given, isnt that the norm for all clubs?
No way is it Redknapp's fault. His job isnt to manage the finances or to keep the club sustainable. Even if he'd piped up and said something, he'd have been told it wasnt his job to concern himself with that side of things. Just like if a manager had gone to the board and said he felt the club could afford to have a bigger transfer budget, which i'm sure many managers try to claim to their board

Whatever he may have done or said though, he didnt have the authority to release transfer funds. Those who did, should've kept an eye on the situation, and they didnt.

I would imagine he's almost directly not to blame and I'm sure it would just be speculation to suggest that he may or may not have made a ****ing packet out of their misery.
What I don't mean to say is that some may speculate that there might be any kind of direct relationship with his lack of third party derived emolument and the size of fairly average players' pay packets.

Harry, Peter Storrie, Tanya Robbins the finance director, all three have a lot to answer for
Well if you were using those figures, he'd be right.
We've technically spent 'more' than them, because our net spend negative figure is smaller than their's, meaning they've recouped more than us.
We spent more and recouped less. Of course he'd be right.
I think that UK's point is that the difference between Spurs' and Liverpool's spend is such a negligible amount. Fair enough for Harry to mention Man City, but its ridiculous of him to say that the pressure is on us to finish ahead of Spurs because we 'spent' a whopping £3m more!
My point is that he has had moderate success with a couple of clubs but that this has been due to fortune (West Ham) and big spending (Portsmouth and Spurs). His record doesn't mark him out as a particularly good manager all things considered.
Is it really fortune that these players came through West Ham when he was there? He was the one that bought them through the youth system, trained them etc. Correct me if im wrong, but WH have produced two fifths of **** all since he left......
