I watched his interview on ITV after the match last night and he said no other Club apart from Madrid had approached him and he kept mentioning his love of football in England..almost sounded downbeat that ONLY Madrid wanted him.
That's just the impression i got anyway. I was maybe putting 2 and 2 together...
Madrid is not a bad stop gap, better than Inter.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I think you might be right here.Originally posted by red g View PostMark my words craig, i can see it being a year......and not a successful one.
you heard it here first
Ps then hopefully comes to us.
Watching the CL final on Saturday the football Inter played was ****ing dull - Madrid have this idea amongst the fans that they should be playing the most attractive football out there and to win isn't always enough there - take Del Bosque (I think) won the Champions League and still got the bullet!
Mourinho will no dount be successful to a point at Madrid but how successful will be determined by how he plays his football - if he sticks to what he knows defensive couter attacking football they will certainly be there or there abouts but if he is forced by the fans to play the "galactico" way then things might get a bit sticky for him.
Don't get me wrong I think he's an excellent manager and you'd put him up there with the best but if he doesn't play the attacking cavalier football the Madrid fans want they'll be on him quickly! I mean Cappello who in my eyes is the best manager in the world got sacked for not being attack minded enough!
Anyway on our up coming season , Rafa looks like he will be in the hot seat and I think we all need to get behind him; I have said we probably need a change but as to who I've no idea - Mourinho isn't going to come and anyone decent isn't going to come to Anfield unless the financial situation and numb & nuts have gone back to the States so we've got Rafa and let's hope he can make ammends for what was a truly ****ing dreadful last campaign!

Mourihno isn't a tactical genius, he plays percentage football. Compare this to the total football played by Barca and you'll tell me which is more difficult to implement. If Rafa has to be replaced I'd replace him with someone like Pep Guardiola.

Oh FFS - first Mourinho, now this. Where is this all going to end?Originally posted by PeteBest View PostMourihno isn't a tactical genius, he plays percentage football. If you're all going to play "EA's Fantasy Chairman" where you role-play the ludicrously hypothetical situation that you're in a position to make a knowledgeable judgement as to which completely improbable managerial appointment you'd make, why not include dead managers in your considerations? Or people who have never been football managers but who you think would be good? There's no need for realism in all this. You can just base it on your own sincerely held feelings about why X would do such a brilliant job because it's just your opinion and it really is a fascinating and valuable way to whittle your life down to a stump..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I'd like to see David Bowie in charge. He'd bring back the Golden Years in no time at all.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostOh FFS - first Mourinho, now this. Where is this all going to end?

Do they have to be alive? If not, Id take one Alphonse Capone. He'd sort the team out. "playa outta ya skin you dirty rat ****s or you'se are gonna be sleepin' with the fishes"Originally posted by Neil Young View PostOh FFS - first Mourinho, now this. Where is this all going to end?

I must admit I find all this pun-based evidence very persuasive but sadly there's no way Bowie would come to us right now. I heard he's been sounded out taking over the running of the Liberian national oil company. He is also considering a part-time role as a sales assistant in the Carlisle branch of Majestic.
I think diminutive screen star Alan Ladd would do a fantastic job. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that he'd jump at the chance if offered the job.
If not him, then my choice would be the executioner of Lady Jane Grey. Or Euclid. Or the 60 year old woman who called me a **** the other day. There's a thoroughly compelling case to be made for any of them, I think that's beyond argument..

I'm thinking she could become a consensus choice for fredo and Craig_H"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Being dead is no bar to consideration. Quite the opposite in fact.Originally posted by murder_inc View PostDo they have to be alive? If not, Id take one Alphonse Capone. He'd sort the team out. "playa outta ya skin you dirty rat ****s or you'se are gonna be sleepin' with the fishes"
However I suspect you're suggesting him purely because he'll give you a job on the management team - we know, murder_inc, you and he have history - so your nomination is invalid..

She drove her car into me while I was on my bike. I was stationary at the time. So you can judge for yourself whether she was justified and who the **** was..
