I'm so underwhelmed and unenthused by the whole Roy Hodgson thing. If its like that for me, imagine how it feels for the big names.

This is the first time in my whole Liverpool supporting life I've been completely underwhelmed by a new manager (if it is Woy) - Rafa was exciting, we all saw his Valencia team rip Liverpool to shreds and wondered what he'd do for us. Houllier was introducing us to continental footballing elegance, our Wenger. Roy Evans was bringing it back to the boot room, exciting football, pass and move. Souness had ripped it up north of the border and was a former captain riding to the rescue. Dalglish was the King being anointed.

    What the hell is this?

I was placated by the possibility of Kenny coming back. Pellegrino managed the biggest names in football last season, and he would keep the Spanish link as well (I know he isn't spanish).

Roy? Nothing, I'm a bit numb. I can't get excited about a man who put all his players behind the ball when the played us last season. Never even tried. The only thing he could do to win me over is to use the Finnish link to bring in Sami.

I hate to say it, but all this manager merry go round **** is spinning us faster and faster into a midtable club. We are a ship without a rudder, going in circles, getting nowhere fast.

Is there anywhere to go fast at the moment? Not much business being done at the moment while the WC is on. We may be a bit behind in the transfer Market, but this must the best time to be managerless if there is one. Assuming it's sorted soon.

i grant you, he's done well with sevilla but then again he didn't win anything with them.
so, i'm not getting excited with him being our next manager either.

i also don't think that hodgsons is as bad or uninspiring as it's made out to be.
he's no flamboyant mourinho, but he's a very astute and experienced manager in his own right who's definetely worth his salt. he might be exactly what the club needs. in my book, if was to be appointed, it could well turn out to a pretty clever move.

and all that talk of 'only this and that person could keep torres and gerrard' - well, that's utter guess work. just remember when houllier got the sack, there were loads of papers claiming that gerrard would prefer curbishley to benitez...

I am sure you meant Villarreal.

On that note, he did great job with them (without any major expenditures) taking them to 2, 3 and 5th place in La Liga and twice in CL including semi-final with Arsenal and obviously his success (or lack of it by some standards) with Real Madrid.

When it comes to Woy (nice fellow and all that) I cannot help it but to agree that it is very uninspiring that he's best success was taking Swiss national team to sweet 16. On that note, he does not have any club's accomplishments and no real international experience except last year with Fulham.

If you also factor attacking and aggressive style of play preached by Manuel and almost 180% different approach by Woy imo Manuel is miles ahead and between those 2 would be more obvious choice.

So we really believe Kenny is going to get ****ty and walk off in a huff because the board disagreed with him on something which isn't generally a part of his duties anyways?

Does that really sound like Kenny?

It sounds like someone who cares massively about the club so yep, it sounds like Kenny.

I was thinking it sounds like a prissy prima donna and not at all like Kenny.

Whatever the results he can carry on at the club in his role without any effect being felt, selection of manager was a special temporary role he was requested to assist in and I don't see how it needs to effect his ambassadorial role.

Depends what his role is doesnt it? We dont know what he does, just the title he was given. If he doesnt think the manager should be in the job but has to be in contact with him on occasions then it will be massively difficult for both of them.

I'm glad someone doesnt rate Hodgson and is trying to save us.

He's supposedly mates with Hodgson so it shouldn't be that hard.

Doesnt mean anything really, if he doesnt think he's up to the job its unfair on both of them to then be working together.

Looks as though nothing's going to happen until after the World Cup now, for whatever reason, so I'm just going to relax and enjoy the rest of it, and worry about LFC again once Spain lift the trophy.
