Oh yeah, lets compare our worst season to fulhams best, yeah right, why not compare managerial achievements, and the time taken in their respective careers to win the trophies they have as managers, that's a better form guide don't you think ?

Each season as the '****e' squad he inherited should have been improving it actually got worse, trophy wise.

Rafa had a good innings, but he wasn't ever going to stay forever just like Torres won't. Time to move on. It isn't all doom and gloom. It might be, but it isn't yet, I refuse to believe that.

That best summarizes the lunacy of our present situation. Shameful and disgraceful.

I've adjusted my aims a long long time ago

To me Hodgson is below even my current standards

Sorry I just cannot get my head round this appointment UNLESS the board are looking to actively have a convenient excuse when players slap in transfer requests

I appreciate its time to move on

But what I cannot accept is moving on to Hodgson

Sorry mate but I don't think I can. I expect us always to challenge at least for top 4 and with Woy in charge for me it is very discouraging to even contemplate that thought.

It is as long as those 2 clowns are pulling the strings. Can't see us making any progress untill they are gone.

IF Roy is our next manager I kind of feel sorry for him since he's only going to be here for the transition time with diddly squat resources. Surely the new owners will want to name their own manager, no?

I honestly don't think the manager is the main factor that will affect this. If the owners/board are willing to invest then we have some chance of keeping Gerrard and Torres, if they aren't we don't. If those two go then I think that no matter what this season will to an extent be about damage limitation and giving having a good base to build from the season after.

Sadly I think it is also the reality.

I am absolutely amazed that we would, under any circumstances, ever consider a manager like Woy.

It is so bitterly disappointing to realise how low we have fallen as a club when we have a discussion about Hodgson's managerial qualities.

Of course I'm going to compare last season. Lecter was referring to Hodgson not overacheiving. I think he did.

Rafa's CV is very good. No one can argue that fact. But he has been at a decent team in Spain (already established by Cuper as a threat to Madrid & Barca) and Liverpool. I would expect the acheivements on someones CV to look better in terms of Champions League and League Finishes than someone that has on the whole learnt & plied his trade with smaller teams and nations, Inter apart. You have to look at more in a manager in my view and thats whats wrong with the modern game.

Or deciding that paying over the top to run a jaguar is stupid in the current climate when a skoda gives better reliability, is more economical and effectively does the same job, gets you form A-B.

Appointing a good solid manager, that would be able to bring the confidence back and keep our key players would be the first step in right direction.

I personally also think that even with the loss of Masch, Benny and perhaps Steve G, if the money is re-invested back into the squad we could potentially still be in the mix.

For that reason, high profile coach like Manual imo would be much better choice.

You also then have to look at why before now, at his age, had Hodgson not won anything big, you say it's because he managed small cubs apart from Inter, well yes, but why has'nt he made his mark at a big club, or even been offered the chance to do so more often, i think people are looking into these managers, and most just believe Rafa was a far better manager than Hodgson, as i'd wager does most of the football world, and those who make and have made mangerial appointments at big clubs throughout europe.
