Thanjk you.

i think people are looking into these managers, and most just believe Rafa was a far better manager than Hosgson, as i'd wager does most of the football world, and those who make mangerial appointments.

Appointing a good solid manager, that would be able to bring the confidence back and keep our key players would be the first step in right direction.
I personally also think that even with the loss of Masch, Benny and perhaps Steve G, if the money is re-invested back into the squad we could potentially still be in the mix.
For that reason, high profile coach like Manual imo would be much better choice.
I would prefer Pelligini too (I voted for him in the above poll) but it is clearly a big gamble. Everyone thought very highly of Ramos before he went to Spurs but he couldn't adjust to the PL at all. I think an appointment like that would be more ambitious and I would like to see it happen but I can see that it is clearly a decision that could blow up in our face.
I'm not so sure that there would be a huge difference in who Pelligini could attract in our current position (i.e. no CL football and considerably less money than the likes of City) and that of a less 'famous' name like Hodgson. In fact being as his background is in Spain Pelligrini probably has had little involvement in signings until now and might not bring much of a contact book in that regard nor much by the way of a scouting network (I'm not claiming the Hodgson would particularly just that I'm not sure how big an advantage Pelligini has in this regard).

You also then have to look at why before now, at his age, had Hodgson not won anything big, you say it's because he managed small cubs apart from Inter, well yes, but why has'nt he made his mark at a big club, or even been offered the chance to do so more often, i think people are looking into these managers, and most just believe Rafa was a far better manager than Hodgson, as i'd wager does most of the football world, and those who make and have made mangerial appointments at big clubs throughout europe.
I think everyone accepts that Rafa will be better than anyone we can appoint now. The problem was that he couldn't work with the board and the relationship appeared to be adversely affecting the team. From the owners/boards point of view we needed a change.
I think it was a horribly misjudged decision but there you go. I don't think it was a baseless one and it is possible that a new manager might do better than Rafa would have done purely because of an improved relationship with the board and hence ability to get on with moulding a team.

Thats my take on it. I don't think gambling is the right option at present. But coin flip and he could be the new messiah. Any appointment is a gamble to a certain degree.
