That's a bit harsh. If he's the new manager then so be it. He deserves a chance although I suspect he won't get too much sympathy if/when things aren't going well.

This isn't an appointment, it's a disappointment. Good luck to whoever the new manager is, it certainly looks very likely that it'll be Hodgson.

Cider can do that. I don't go near the stuff.
          Oh I don't know.

I'm not averse to Hodgson. I think he can be the steadying hand we need at the moment.

Let's be honest, no world class manager will touch us with a bargepole at the moment.

Sorry but I don't think it is. I don't want him at our Club and hopefully the new owners will agree
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Well I don't think many people would say he was their first choice, but it is what it is! It looks like he's the new manager, at least it looks like we'll have a manager soon. I'd rather have Hodgson now than nobody for a number of weeks and no preparation for the next season. Hodgson is only likely to be a short term solution anyway - 12 months or two years I'd guess? We need to come up with a song for him now?

Our situation is pretty awful but projecting this on to Hodgson who is at least a decent pragmatic choice with experience, both in general and of the PL, seems most unfair.

He isn't my first choice but that doesn't mean I think he is a bad one.

Like everyone I wish we had a world class transfer budget and a top level manager but the ownership situation precludes that for the foreseeable future. I don't really think that the futures of Torres, Gerrard or Mascherano will be decided primarily by the management selection. No matter who had come in I think Mascherano would be looking to go and the other two would need to see substantial investment to be totally happy to carry on here.

One good run in the UEFA and thats all you need to manage LFC? We may as well have Mclaren.
I was hoping that this was all a smokescreen but the BBC only report things when they know its a cert.

Great phrase. Is it yours? If so have you considered a career in composing soundbites?
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Aside from the fact he cant win away from home, doesnt use young players, has a suspect transfer record and plays defensive football I think he'll be great!
