Just a point on Hiddink, and the turkey job after the WC.

Didnt he manage chelsea, while also being the russia manager? A good manager can do both.

So from May 2006 to May 2007, we went backwards to the tune of 14. We didnt 'progress' in the points department, did we?

Same thing is happening this season, in relation to last.

Houllier also went from 4th, to 3rd, to 2nd - and then it collapsed again.

The final step is the hardest and it's no shame that Rafa, like Houllier, has faltered at the same hurdle.
whether Rafa would have made that final step i have my reservations, but he had no chance once the yanks took over very different to GH.

I think there are things that happened in the summer we may never find out about till Rafa's biography but something went on and it stinks

The main point of my post, was in response to the comment that 'bar this season every other we have progressed in every department'.

It's not correct to say that.

And with Rafa last season we went the closest in almost 20year. Granted Paisley won ****ing everything 10times over but, its a knee jerk reaction with Rafa i believe. If we had the money and the owners who kept their word we wouldnt be havn this sort of reaction. Becouse we would know like Man City do, next season we can go out and spend £50million or so and bring in world class players. All Man City have on us is money. Mancini or Benitez? Rafa everytime!

Id rather stick with Rafa. But if anyone can do the job its Hiddink. **** all this Mourinho talk they are living in a dream world. He would cost "nowt" or would have but since he has the Turkish job lined up i suspect they will want abit of compo for him.

How do people know that, if we had the money, rafa wouldnt have bought another job-lot of Keanes and Aquilanis?

He's bought some genuine class, but in recent times, his signings have got woeful, especially the expensive ones. His last undoubtedly good expensive signing was Mascherano, ages ago.

I'm not entirely sure how much right they'd have to compo. National management jobs arent considered fulltime roles, are they?

All the fools who think otherwise are deluded, drunk or not. If you had to plot a curve to determine Rafa's progression since he's been at the club it would have been all steadily pointing upward bar this season. He's got to sit on what went wrong this season and rectify it, he's paid to do that and he will/should be given the chance to do that. No one is saying we are 'liking what we see' or that 'we're settling for 7th' or other bollocks I've seen.

You're as far up Mourihno's arse Craig it's incredible. I'm pretty sure you'll worship him even if he ****s up this club, tosses with our values etc ...

Could you BE any more arrogant?

                        No it wouldnt.

                        I'll say again:

                        2005-2006 - 82 pts
                        2006-2007 - 68 pts

What if we dont believe he cant rectify it?

What if we think he'll make it worse?

Should we just accept that, and think it's ok for things to get worse?

You think he'll fix it and take us forward. Fine. Some people dont. How about if you try to respect their right to think that, without arrogantly dismissing them as 'deluded'.

                          ***bizarre weirdness alert***

I dont *think* i've actually mentioned him once in this thread, or tonight. I think i was advocating Hiddink just a minute or few ago, in this very thread.

Hardly the action of someone who's "up Mourinho's arse".

The irony being, of course, that you criticise me for allegedly being "up mourinho's arse" from your current geographical location, firmly lodged up Rafa's arse.

Yes but, who bought Keane? Probaly the owners which is why Rafa shiped him out so soon and the reason he aint doing the same with Aqulani is becouse hes his own signing. Hes made some bad buys but so have everybody else. Djemba Djemba? Kleberson? Taibi? Veron? Tosic? Smith? Manucho? Barthez? £60million worth of ****e there and, Dong Fanzhou or whatever the **** hes called Rafa brought in Reina for £5million and hes now the best in the world easy. Yes he could piss the money up the wall but we will never know. Till these yanks give him it or **** off.

If the owners bought Keane and rafa didnt want him, he'd have walked.

Nope. He loves this club and ever since the two yanks have took over (incidently Hicks took over the mighty Corinthians of Brazil and put them in the second division becouse financialy he ****ed them up) its been us against them. Rafa has always had the support of the fans. And hes known that and used it to his advantage.
