Undoubtedly. It was a blatant elbow/forearm smash. He was lucky the ref or linesman didn't see it but I'd be shocked if he didn't pick up a ban for his actions.

      I agree, but he's cup-tied apparently.

That's what ESPN said - looks more like 15 league goals in 17 starts this season - not bad.

Nice to see us playing some football. It could be said that it was Pompey, but still there was some lovely stuff at one point in the second half. Some nice passing too. Aquilani was good, but not one for a tackle is he? Gerrard was silly with the smash on Brown, but he might get away with it as the referee did give a free kick, so obvious saw the incident. Hopefully.

Lucas and Kuyt will be back for OT.

              T'was indeed.

He did well. Looked composed. Maybe at fault for their goal but it's all part of the learning process. He has a bright future ahead of him.

The commentator on my stream said that since the ref had a word with SG there wouldn't be any further action taken?

And it would be difficult to argue really. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see us go balls out and have a go at them - they're not that ****ing good and don't like teams having a go at them - but Aquilani won't get the time and space he got tonight. I could understand it if Rafa reverted to type, as it were, although I wouldn't agree. Let's ****ing have a go.

The **** about Lucas and Kuyt on here is pathetic quite frankly, neither player are the ones who have seriously let us down and Lucas has been one of our best players this season. Embarrassing and ignorant and stupid.

Well the ref gave a foul, did he not? Therefore he didn't miss it, he dealt with it and surely no retrospective action can be taken?

True, but you can only beat what's put in front of you. And they pummelled us earlier in the season so nice to see we weren't bullied. Would love a win at OT With Torres, there's always a chance!

                          Silly boy.
If the ref saw it, and it looked like he was having a word with Gerrard about it afterwards then the FA cant do anything

Also Browns arm came out 1st
