If it was a Robot Wars battle you'd have to say that the Mancs are robust and have a single potent weapon. The person controlling the machine is willing to take risks and unfortunately the same cannot be said for us - we have potentially more offensive threat, but we're too cautious and don't unleash our weapons. I wish I hadn't bothered trying to make that analogy. :-/

Their manager actively seeks to do everything he can to win.

Ours would do, but is too afraid to lose.

I think you give some of our players too much credit. Some of them are dire and should be nowhere near the first team.

On the subject of the game, we went to our rivals having struggled past Lille and lost 9 games in the league. We played a team who had thrashed Milan and who were chasing top spot.

Even with roles reversed you'd be hard pushed to see United go on the attack at Anfield. We were set up to stop them winning and would probably have done so had Webb not given the pen. And I don't think Reina had much to do other than pick the ball out the net, couple of long range efforst and that was it.

In all honesty we created as many clear cut chances as they did, yet failed to convert ours.
          Forwards.......

Does 3 Games in a week against 1 week of light training have any effect on the respective teams?

Webb didn't lose us the game, what a load of ****. We lost the game because we weren't god enough on the day. Even in slow match replays professionals are split on whether it was or wasn't so to blame Webb for that is complete crap. One person to blame for the penalty and that was Mascher.

The second half was bloody awful, Torres was just left completely isolated. The subs came way too late, Man Utd had setup quite defensively to protect the lead and that was the time to make the changes but Rafa has attackingcreativeplayerphobia and left it until he really had no option. The setup was the problem and its the reason we're so **** this season, teams have simply worked us out.

We've had just as many injuries as most teams have. Everton have been ****ed with injuries for a lot of the season, spent pennies in comparison and sit just 6 points behind us, completely outscoring us since the start of the year. Thats not the refs fault, its not based on one bloody game, and it has **** all to do with players heads being messed with due to wasn't going on in the board room. Its to do with average players, poor form, a lack of belief/confidence, defensive displays which teams have now worked out how to play against, and regular starts for underperfoming players and what seems to be a lack of reward for players who get hardly any time to play but play bloody well when they do get 10 minutes only to be dropped again for the next game. A **** load of this would be sorted with a charismatic, more attack minded manager who's prepared to change things once in a while when things clearly aren't going well.

If Jose was here each one of those players would be walking 10ft high, if players impressed they'd be given a fair chance.

Rafa has to go and a new manager would be like a breath of fresh air.
Brilliant, well said and the absolute truth. Rafa must go now..
Terrible display on Sun, horrendous and painful to watch...
The team was ****e, the tactics were ****e..

Rafa's fear of losing is a big problem generally - i wasnt specifically meaning to refer to the United game. My only qualm with that was after we'd gone 2-1 down, we were too slow to actually start going at them, took too long to give it a proper go.

Even in 5 mins stoppage time, they spent more time in our half than vice versa.

therein lies our major weakness. rafa looks to not get beat first and foremost. our first thought should always be to score more than the opposition.

pissed me off as well. for almost the entire stoppage time they had the ball and not one lfc player gave 100% to try and get it back.

Their 'force multipliers' played well while ours didn't. That was the difference.

It was outside the box!! Mascherano had let go before Valencia set foot in the box.

It obviously doesn't matter though, we weren't good enough on the day...
