everytime kewell begins to find his best form he gets injured again. i think its getting to the point where enough is enough and we need to cut our losses. his performance against the chavs in the FA cup semifinal last season was superb, he ripped them apart down the left

I just get the impression that he makes a mountain out of a molehill in regards to injuries. I'm not the only one that thinks that.

Take it from someone who's had a similar injury to him, it's taken about 2 years for mine to get better, and it still acts up from time to time, I fully understand where he's coming from.

Exactly. IMO, he has lost the passion for football, therefore he is not in the right mind for the game.

Or did you see Kewell when he got subbed off in the CL Final and the FA Cup Final.

Do you know how hard he's been working to get back on the pitch, he's seen about ten different people to see how they can help with his injuries.

Noticed him last season. He got injured and was out for a while but is back and on top form at the moment.

Can he play at right back aswell as left? Either way, he would be good to have. He is a scouser, still young and i doubt he'd cost too much. Great shot too.

Being a scouser has FA to do with it unless this is now a criteria to sign players. Its the same mantra whenever Barton or Nolan's name is shouted from the rooftops.
If we were to sign Baines to 'do a job' for us at right back as well then I would take Lucas Neil over him in a heartbeat. I wouldnt take Baines over our 2 left backs Riise or Warnock either.
He is an OK player IMO but nothing more.

quality player, has been outstanding and would provide an improvement for us on the LB side. Bonsu he's a youngster and a scouser-would be a long term solution there for us.

Everton defender Leighton Baines admits he was embarrassed by praise from Liverpool great Jamie Carragher.

It wasn’t often that the Everton defender was left red-faced last season, but his cross park rival Carragher managed to do just that when he publicly hailed Baines as the Premier League’s best left-back last season.

“I read that,” admitted Baines. “I think we were on the plane back from somewhere and one of the lads showed me that and I was blushing to be honest with you.

“It’s nice of him to say it because he’s not just anyone. Jamie Carragher is well respected not just for his footballing ability and what he’s done himself, but for his knowledge of the game. Everyone knows he’s a football maniac.

“He’s a top, top player but it’s like it’s come from a top manager as well because that’s the way he thinks and he’s almost on that level already.

Can't think of another left back with the quality that Baines possesses. He's a gem of a footballer and i'm gutted we didn't sign him when was on fire for Wigan...small Club syndrome strikes again no doubt.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Barca and Madrid looking at Baines, possibly next summer. He's that good imo.
