Does anyone know how long he has left on his contract? If we can grab him for £10m then it'd be worth it. He never gets injured so we could afford to pay a little extra and keep Aurelio as cover.

Aurelio as cover for Baines. FFS. If only he wasn't made of glass.
He signed a new 5 year contract last summer so has 4 years left

He'd be a good signing though.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

      Ah, bugger.

I was sort of hoping that he was in the last year or two of his contract.

Four years... I'm guess Everton will be looking at £15m or so for him then?!

Apparently, Kenny really wants him and is the first choice. Enrique is the fall back option.

              Rumour

Told this of an Evertonian mate of mine just now after I texted him about us going for Baines. He says (I'll translate it from text speak and remove the jibes):

I know mate, you and City are in for him and he wants to join you (LFC). Moyes has been told the score and is strongly thinking of jumping ship. Seems Kenwright is unconcerned on who Baines joins be that City or LFC.

              --

Apparently whoever told him this has told him other snippets before. I don't know, as I don't care about Everton so tbh I can't say how real this info is as I've never had cause to mention or ask about the blues before. I can tell when my mate is lying and this isn't one of those moments, but that's not to say someone isn't winding him up.

              Personally my view is this:

Can't see Everton selling him on the cheap to anyone, he's an England international and you only have to see what Glen went for to know the going rate, even if Baines isn't first choice. Secondly, I would seriously expect that there would be a premium on the price because it's us, making the fee even more ridiculous.

I think if we want him, we'll have to spend at least £15m. Big money for a LB, even if he is top quality.

According to the Twitter bloke you quoted in another thread, we've only got £25m to spend.

That cant be true, if we only had £25m, i doubt we'd be looking to spend £16m on Ashley Young.

That's if the Twitter bloke was right, which I doubt.

It's not the worst rumour I've heard, he seems to know the right people on there to have it worth his while not to spout rubbish. But as ever, it all depends on who is feeding him certain bits of info.

Saw wimpy kid 2 this afternoon with the sprogs. Lad who plays him bears a decent resemblance to young Bainesy.
