    Pepe signs SIX year deal

PEPE REINA has given Liverpool a major boost ahead of tonight’s Europa League showdown with Benfica by signing a new contract.

Reina has finally put pen to paper on a six-year deal that replaces his current agreement and extends his Anfield commitment to 2016.

The goalkeeper has been Liverpool’s outstanding performer of a difficult campaign, having already proven a huge success since arriving from Villarreal for £6million in the summer of 2005.

Reina is on course to win a fourth Golden Gloves award for keeping the most clean sheets during a Premier League campaign.

He is the latest Liverpool to sign a long-term contract, following the example of Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Daniel Agger and Yossi Benayoun during the past 12 months.

Reina said: “Why commit? Because I am happy here and I think the club is happy too. I see no reason to leave.”

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Absolutely brilliant news!! I believe that Pepe will be a fantastic keeper even going into his forties. To tie him down for the next 6 years is a massive achievement - it is so hard to find a great keeper and we have one of the best in the world.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No wonder his name will be sang tonight. He'll probably receive a standing ovation, he'll get the crowd going too, watch this space. We'll win tonight.

That is more than a little pleasing.

I may cancel my new top with Stephens on the back.
