I think that the level of success he has here will depend on two factors: 1) how willing we are to play him behind the striker and Gerrard in centre mid, 2) how effective he is in goalscoring terms.
I feel that he's more suited to playing ahead of Gerrard than behind him, I don't think he's as suited to playing the Defensive Mid/ Midfield positions we use in our system. I think he is more suited to the attacking role, but to be successful in it he needs to chip in with a good amount of goals to justify his selection in that role.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment

I tend to think we need to stop thinking of 'strongest side' in terms of just XI players. We need different options and having many players strong enough to really compete for a first team place is a good thing. people tend to want it to be about one player replacing another I'm not sure that is really the case (I accept that it is likely that we will move to playing Kuyt less but then earlier this season it was obvious he was knackered from playing too much so that is as much an advantage to him as a bad thing for him)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
