The optimistic to the point of disillusionment thread

Okay lets clutch at some straws here -

We're no further off the top of the table than we were this morning still 11 points off

11 points isn't a massive gap, difficult to close but not impossible

There's still 98 points up for grabs, with all but one of our traditionally hardest fixtures done with.

Man u and Chelscum you would expect at least to drop a further 18 points each by the end of the season.

On average over the last few seasons around 88-92 points will win the prem, we could still hit this target, and drop roughly 10 points.

We are 8 points worse off than last season in corresponding fixtures, but theres plenty of opportunitys to make these 8 points up over the course of the season, to at least bring us level to last season.

All we need to do is hit form, and win a shed load of games between now and May - highly unlikely, but not impossible.

Disclaimer - this thread in unhealthily optimistic.

      We'll finish 4th.

But Rafa has to spend some serious money on quality players with the right attitude.

Players like Zenden, Pennant and Bellamy have to go.

The current side just isn't good enough.

              some more:

We're all but through to the final 16 of the champs league, a win v Bordeaux will tie that up, and a win v PSV will see us top our group and allow us to enjoy the return trip to Istanbul.

We've got the Carling Cup next, which will give Rafa some breathing space in a competitive fixture, and maybe blood some young players like Paletta, Anderson, El-Zhar and others, maybe we'll find a jem?

I think Bellamy's attitude on the pitch has been spot on for us. We actually missed him today

that's funny because I was just thinking exactly..... how unlikely that scenario is.

More chance of Rafa swooping for me in a £14.5m deal than selling Xabi in January.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think the only movements out in January will be Garcia and Zenden.

oh! don't say that my daughters got a bid in for a signed Gerrard and xabi framed picture, oh well it can go in the loft with the morientes, pongolle and Le tallec ones, it can keep the jimmy carter and David speedie ones company, i know!, if she bids on memorabilia of lfc players we don't like that might solve our problems.
