The optimistic to the point of disillusionment thread

We'll finish 4th.

But Rafa has to spend some serious money on quality players with the right attitude.

Players like Zenden, Pennant and Bellamy have to go.

The current side just isn't good enough.

I'm not sure that we will finish 4th. I think it will be a real struggle.

I haven't given up on 3rd. Arsenal have had a much easier season start than we have. They have difficult games to come - including against us next week. We'll be all out not to lose that one. I have a sneaky feeling that our season starts next week. Optimistic enough for you?

But Arsenal are quality and in my opinion the only realistic challengers to Chelsea. I actually don't think United are anything special this season, no team can win anything with that c*nt Carrick marshalling their midfield. If by some miracle we were to come 3rd it would be at the Manc's expense and not Arsenal's imo. But for me we will really struggle to finish in the top 4 this season because we are nothing short of CRAP.

I think Bellamy's attitude on the pitch has been spot on for us. We actually missed him today

I havent seen the game but after reading the posts of those who have, if what was missing today was heart, commitment, endeavour and a bit of bollox then without doubt what we missed was Bellamy as he has all of the above in spades.

two games he has missed now are Everton and Utd.

As a Liverpool fan, you could expect him to be really up for it doing what Rooney does and chase every ball.

Sadly "Mr Liverpool 1 and 2" both played in those games and showed nothing of the sort so its clear there is a problem.

I expect to see stories in the paper soon.

Ok here is something to be optimistic about.
Next weekend the Chavs and Scum play 2 of the hardest away games of the season,Sheff U (early ko) and Bolton respectively.

They are bound to drop points, aren't they???

And with our good home form we will take 3 points off Villa and so close the gap on the leaders, so c'mon be optimistic

The season started when we dismantled Chelsea in the Community Shield - from that moment on we have gone backwards.

'Something' is not right in the camp.

My view is that we have hit our bad patch at a time when we are having most of our difficult games. (well it gives me hope if nothing else).

Bellamy would have given us commitmnet on Sunday and that would have been someting to take from the debacle.
