Well exactly. The club would either tell him or his agent. If they told him, he would've told his agent.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostIt;s really curious that his agent knows nothing. You'd think that if he was getting the sack, he might have called his agent...
Whether they'd sacked him or offered him a payoff to walk, the above still applies.

I wonder whether publicising the offer amounts to constructive dismissal. It sounds like it to me. And, if it is, Rafa will be entitlled to his money in full. So puff goes this summer's transfer budget. So now we have the same squad as last year with the three biggest stars all thinking of leaving, and no money for improvements. Brilliant.
What I don't get about all of this is why H & G think these sort of actions will do anything other than erode the value of the club....which is to their disdavantage.

Nothing seems impossible these days at LFC.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

No it isn't..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Doesnt make sense though. For a start, telling him through the media isnt even official, so doesnt stand up legally.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostOr they choose to tell him through the media?

Secondly, if they're wanting to give him money to go, what use is it to do that via a journalist? Again, nothing official from Rafa's point of view. Are the owners expecting the journalist to come back to them and tell them if rafa's accepted £3m??

Kanwar's loving this and bigging up his (supposed) links to Purslow.
****ing dirty mouthpiece. I hope his mouth gets proper used...
.. he really sounds like Dunk... which makes me think even more he is Rashid, and Dunk's contacts were in fact no more than just Rashid...
now there's a conspiracy for you... why else did he not publish my question to him "Are you Rashid?"Last edited by Tatterdemalion; 02-06-10, 10:53 PM.Really?

Incredible news (if true) and another embarassing day to support the club.
We operate with no class whatsoever these days it seems...
I am not actualy upset if this is true. Even though we can't get a massive name in as a replacement, I think Rafa's time was up after such a **** season and his lack of ideas to stop the rot. Yes, player power is ****, but if a more popular manager comes in, it could well improve our fortunes.
We'll see, and if he stays and brings the players with him, all the best, but not the end of days like many are suggesting.Last edited by Kenneth; 02-06-10, 10:53 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ol/8719210.stmLiverpool manager Rafael Benitez has been offered a severance deal to leave Anfield, BBC Sport understands.
Benitez led the club to Champions League glory in 2005 but could only guide the Reds to seventh place in the Premier League last season.
The 50-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, with the Italian giants looking for a coach following Jose Mourinho's move to Real Madrid.
Benitez's agent has said he will speak with the Spaniard on Thursday.
Agent Manuel Garcia Quilon said: "We don't know anything more than what's being said.
"We're not saying anything."
Liverpool declined to comment on the rumours on Wednesday.
It is believed that it would cost the club about £16m to pay off Benitez, who joined Liverpool in June 2004.
But reports on Wednesday suggested the club was discussing a compromise compensation package worth £3m.
As well as the 2005 Champions League triumph, Benitez also steered Liverpool to the European Super Cup in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006.
They enjoyed an impressive Premier League campaign in 2008-09, finishing as runners-up, four points behind champions Manchester United having lost just two games all season.
But they were hugely inconsistent last season, losing 11 times in the league and exiting the Champions League in the group stages. They dropped into the Europa League and reached the semi-finals where they lost to Atletico Madrid.Another MASSIVE game
