Presumably based on the fact that he was a very successful manager in his first spell, and (if the reports are true and he takes over) he's unlikely to get funds to do the job properly. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nope, because i wholly believe he is being used as a pawn in the businessmans game.Originally posted by Operation View PostSure, it would be a risk, but I don't think he's be doomed to failure. Don't see why he couldn't improve on last season. Expectations would be lower, players may react well etc. Does the idea of seeing kenny in the dugout at Anfield give you at least a semi, even with the doubts?

It's a difficult one for me. I have wanted Rafa replaced for a while, for football reasons only. The off field situation complicates it a lot, but when it comes down to it, whatever the motives, and however **** the process of doing it, I think replacing him is the right thing to do. My expectations for next season are not impacted, I didn't think we'd magically bounce back. All depends who we get and how we start the season really. an awful backwards step getting the king in. when did he last manage us? why not george graham? because the game has moved on.
rush well have a look at his coaching career not exactly great.
both club legends both great players the king was a great manager but we are in 2010 time to move forwards not backwards to a legends comfort blanket.

Dano, did you get your money back off that fat fool? I had a similar problem with subs and I'm storing it it to crucify the ****er. I'm still on there, but only fleetingly to keep my eye in.

Can they **** !!! the pitch forks are being sharpenedOriginally posted by Vermilion View PostThis makes me think that the club will not be sold any time soon, and they are preparing the ground for as little fan backlash as possible, with two legends stepping in they believe they can get away with murder.

It does, but the idea of him failing and being sacked and pushed out of the club gives me man tears.Originally posted by Operation View PostDoes the idea of seeing kenny in the dugout at Anfield give you at least a semi, even with the doubts?
Not worth the risk when he's not got a recent proven history in management.

I really don't think they're arsed about fan backlash, within reason (as it has to be approved by the board) I think they'll make the most economical appointment.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostThis makes me think that the club will not be sold any time soon, and they are preparing the ground for as little fan backlash as possible, with two legends stepping in they believe they can get away with murder.

But they own the club, they can get away with murder, they can do what the **** they like. Not sure why people have difficulty coming to terms with ths.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostThis makes me think that the club will not be sold any time soon, and they are preparing the ground for as little fan backlash as possible, with two legends stepping in they believe they can get away with murder.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I think there is a major difference. In that the owners can (attempt to) justify not backing a caretaker in the transfer market because they are just here for an undefined short term. Typical ploy by the parasites to stop them having to give money to a manager IMOOriginally posted by Matt View PostNo real difference between a caretaker and somebody who's appointed on a short term basis e.g 1/2 years.
Kenny seems to be the obvious choice, he just gets a payrise. Most other names on the list would require a compensation payment. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Look, as much as we may disagree with the sacking of Rafa, there's nothing we can do about it. I don't agree that the fact that Kenny hasn't managed for years is evidence that he can't manage now. If this is the case, we need to support him and Rushie, not start off with this negative attitude.
The kop will be in full song, King Kenny and Rushie flags will be flying. Lets try and look at the positives.Play Ball!!!!!!!

They don't need a ploy. They aren't going to give the manager lots of money, be that Rafa or someone else. The only ploy may be to try and passify some fans by appointed a legend, but is that such a bad thing?Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think there is a major difference. The reality is the reality, no money. Rafa wouldn't accept it and they're sacking him. There will be no money whoever is in charge.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
