*IF* it happens I have no doubt whatsoever 100% of the fans will be 100% behind him. Both home and us foreigners stuck chatting about it on forums.Originally posted by Taxi View PostLook, as much as we may disagree with the sacking of Rafa, there's nothing we can do about it. I don't agree that the fact that Kenny hasn't managed for years is evidence that he can't manage now. If this is the case, we need to support him and Rushie, not start off with this negative attitude.
The kop will be in full song, King Kenny and Rushie flags will be flying. Lets try and look at the positives.
How can anyone not worship and adore Kenny and yet still call themselves a fan?
But we're discussing the possibility at the moment, not it actually happening.

A sad day. The day Lfc admitted defeat imo, for the forseeable anyway, settle for less, wait till someone buys the club, till then save cash.

Maybe ploy was the wrong word, but it's easier for them to back up their course of action, than it is at present.Originally posted by Operation View PostThey don't need a ploy. They aren't going to give the manager lots of money, be that Rafa or someone else. The only ploy may be to try and passify some fans by appointed a legend, but is that such a bad thing?
The reality is the reality, no money. Rafa wouldn't accept it and they're sacking him. There will be no money whoever is in charge.
I don't see the sense in appointing a caretaker manager (whoever it is), unless it is only for a very short period of time, they are suggesting until we get new owners, but that doesn't seem imminent. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

sounds like we are turning into newcastleOriginally posted by Vermilion View PostThis makes me think that the club will not be sold any time soon, and they are preparing the ground for as little fan backlash as possible, with two legends stepping in they believe they can get away with murder.Polymetal Allooyy

True, but we can indirectly influence it. For example Hicks is ending his involvement with sports teams because of the pressure applied by the fans which resulted in a lack of privacy. If it weren't for that pressure he might not be looking to sell the club.Originally posted by Operation View PostOne day it will change, but not because we decided it.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We just don't know. And ignorance isn't bliss in this situation unfortunately.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostMaybe ploy was the wrong word, but it's easier for them to back up their course of action, than it is at present.

Because he was exactly the type of player we needed and was available cheaply. Perhaps he hoped that he had matured - he was supposed to have. Perhaps the coaches at Espanyol said good things about him. I don't know - it was clearly a gamble - which paid off for a season.Originally posted by SB View PostSo why did Rafa sign him if he knew that Dave?"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Only saw this this morning- thank ****. would never have slept otherwise.
The club I knew & loved has died & I am at breaking point in my love affair. I have a life to lead & I cannot stomach another year of this ****, so Im gonna do my best to turn my back on it. No purchases or games, mebbe cancell Sky. Wont be overnight, but I'll work on it.
If I ever cross paths with either of those 2 Yanks, I will end up locked up for a long time.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I agree that as fans we should be pressuring the cunts running the club.
However, we do not know the exact facts behind whats going on. I for one lost Confidence in Rafa around Xmas last season. The Rafa of last season was not the Rafa of old. He mismanaged the team badly and we lost 19 games. He made mistakes every bloody week, not to mention the £20m blown on Robbie Keane, £20m blown on Aquilani. I don't see him turning it around so I wanted him gone anyway. We started the season aiming for the title and then ended up being promised 4th. We finished 7th ffs, thats grounds for dismissal. He is ultimately responsible.
Im not going to panick though like some people are, if its true that the likes of Carra, Gerrard and Torres don't want to play for him (this is very possible) then dismissing him makes sense. Rafa Benitez clearly does not have the backing of the dressing room, they were not playing for him. We don't see what goes on but it could be that his antics in the dressing room were just as crazy as his team selections, tactical failures, strange substitutions etc etc etc
As I said in mid-season what we need now is an intelligent leader who the players will respect and that can pick the right team. We need stability so right now id happily take King Kenny in temp charge. If we can get Hiddink or someone like Felix Magath then that will also be acceptable.

I have to say after the shocking season we had I thought we needed a change at the helm, having said that you look at who is out there and come to the conclusion we have the best man for the job at the moment - and who in their right minds would want to work for these cunts.
And yet it seems a leak from the club saying that Rafa is on his way out now - it beggers belief after giving him a new 5 year deal - these ****ers have managed to take this great club into the gutter - everything in the news for the past couple of years has just been more bad news after the other - I honestly can't think of the last time I saw something positive about us.
One thing for sure is that Rafa really has no choice but to go now mainly for the good of the club with all the **** going on dragging this out is just going to harm us more anf more but Rafa deserves a hell of a lot more respect than these maggots have shown him since they've been here
****ing disgraceful position for this club to be in - I blame all involved with Hicks and Gilette being here and that most certainly involves Parry and Moores!

Unless the owners come down from the clouds Dalglish could be in charge for yearsOriginally posted by Taxi View PostTalksport's Graham Beecroft just reporting that King Kenny and Ian Rush to take over until new investment is found. This will be in a caretaker role and the reason being that new investors will want their own man as manager so caretaker role until further notice. This will also ensure that Gerrard stays.
I love Kenny to bits but to be honest I would dread to see him come back with such restrictions on finances and then completely tarnish his legend
People tend to forget the amount of wonga Kenny spent in assembling his great side. He broke the British transfer record twice in two consecutive seasonsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

As regards the rumours of King Kenny and Rush, why would we appoint a new assistant manager if we are going to have a caretaker? Surely Sammy Lee would stay, as someone like Kenny would surely want him, he's Liverpool through and through, he's a good coach and he knows the players. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not sure what Lee will do. I can see him walking out again. He might get the managers job if we are really that hard up.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostAs regards the rumours of King Kenny and Rush, why would we appoint a new assistant manager if we are going to have a caretaker?
