I always said with Rafa my heart says yes but my head says no.

    Right now I'm bloody heartbroken...

I think it was time for Rafa to go, i respect what he brings as a manager and the european success we had with him but i was honestly never his biggest fan, he made some baffling decisions and i thought tried to be too clever at times and was always too conservative for my liking.

its funny how normally this would be stupid because its almost to opposing things but at times i guess you can say it was like that with rafa...ngog for torres at birmingham but then playing 2 CDM's for a lot of the time... but still i will miss rafa.

why dont you compare to Uts and Arsenal and Chelsea?

              Allow me to explain.

things are going well in the league the pressure is building on all the players who have not been in this position before, and then Rafa decides that out of the blue he is going to galvanise the team with a statement that will send a battle cry to the mancs.

what happened? Well Rafa's press conference sounded rather silly, he got nickmamed as a mad fool that had lost it, and liverpool went on a terrible run that ultimately they could never recover from.

I agree it's too simplisitc to suggest if he hadnt made that PC rant we would have won the league, but there is no doubting it did not have the desired effect and in hindsight was poorly judged.

let's face it, for an owner, he's not an easy person to have as manager - especially when you are lying scum like those two. He stood up to them and last year managed to completely win the stand-off over him leaving, thanks to his standing with the fans he got Parry kicked out, total control over the academy etc.

the minute they thought they could, i.e. a poor season had diminished his standing with the fans, they got rid of him at (almost) any cost and now they'll bring in someone who won't be so demanding and won't tell tell press what c@@@@ they are.

I hope Rafa buys Kuyt and Ngog and Insua off us. We could probably make 23mill from that. Quite useful.

Why not add Plessis to that and we can make 1 billion dollars!

I thought we were already on a bad run of form when Rafa did that press conference.

Wow i'm pretty sad about this

****ing hate H&G, they're far more to blame than Benitez, and i hope that in a few years when some of our amazing youth breaks through that he is credited.

I have no idea who we're going to bring in thats available right now who is a step up from Benitez.

This increases the chance that we lose Torres aswell unfortunately :/ and increases the chance that our other quality players such as Reina will listen to offers from other clubs if we bring in a 2nd-rate manager

Thank You H&G for basically asset stripping our club, you clueless ****S!@*(#!*(@

Because Villa, Spurs and Man City are who we're competing with right now?

Anyway, ManU's net spend is artificially low due to the insane Ronaldo fee. Chelsea spent a ridiculous amount building that squad and so recently haven't had to go as mad to maintain it, and Arsenal, well, Wenger is a bit special. Go on an Arsenal forum though and see what their fans think about his lack of spending. And anyway, they also utterly robbed Citeh, £50m for Adebayour and Toure?

Fact is that in the last 4 transfer windows our net spend has been approximately 0. Some calculations even have us in profit over that period. And we most certainly won't be splashing the cash this summer, that'll make it 5 windows. Given that we were coming from a level considerably below that of Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea (the only sides to win the league in the last decade), there is no way any manager could genuinely expect to maintain a real challenge to those sides under the financial constraints which have been in place for the last 2 years.
