SSN? Never listen to it, I haven't looked up his net spending in a fair while, but Rafa has had money made available to him.

Maybe I am being harsh, but I except better from Liverpool and I don't want to see them accepting mediocrity.

Rafa had 6 years to do something, he won a CL title, fair enough, but he never won the one thing that matters the most.

Hardly Rafa's fault is it? If anything, that makes his task harder- particularly given the starting point of strength Scum had & the unprecedented investiture of the Chavs which coincided with Rafa's tenure.

Kuyt is suppose to be a striker, he hardly ever plays there, another striker turned winger, if Rafa didn't waste money and brought an out and out winger we may actually have a decent one for a change.

Like Henry switeched roles then? Kuyt is valuable team member, regardless of the nominality of his role.

I doubt half the people here would be this upset if G&H weren't in charge, would you be this upset, if they sacked Rafa and now guaranteed 100M to spend on players without selling anyone?

Depends on the manner of his sacking - and yes I would be upset cos I would have wanted Rafa to have the chance with that £100m.

I don't get it, he spends almost 10M on Kuyt so he can play him out wide, why not spend 10M on a wide player? What about 11M on Babel?

Rafa did very well with a reasonable net spend, but as soon as that dropped off to zero, we started struggling.

I don't get people on here, all I read on here as the season went on was to sack Rafa for the poor season ...

If you've never looked it up, how do you know he's had money to spend. He may have for his first few years (the Moores years, hmmmm...) but his spending for the last few has been covered by sales. Whilst I'd like to see improvements in the squad everytime we spend £20m, if he's had to sell £20m as well, where's the improvement going to come from?

Dalglish played in the best teams. Great teams under great managers. Teams that won Championships and European Cups on a regular basis. He never had to drag a team, week in week out, through thick and thin. Truth is, Houllier and Rafa had success at Liverpool due, in a large part, to Steven Gerrard.

Well if you are doubting the significance of Dalglish in those teams look back at our performances when he was injured long term

We always fell dramatically off the pace

Now I'm not saying that Gerrard has had world class players surrounding him but hes had some fairly good teammates

Hyypia, Fowler, Owen, Alonso, Mascherano, Torres & Reina

Dalglish has faced some massive circumstances in his career. He took over the job post Heysel (although he agreed to take the job prior to Heysel) and carried us to a double the following season. Again check the results when after resting himself for much of the early part of the season he returned. He lifted the club and carried us over the line in the final dozen or so games.

To me Dalglish is mentally much stronger than Gerrard

To me Gerrards mentality is his biggest and possibly his only flaw
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I am not about to shed tears on a man that got a nice pay out, given millions to spend, had Gerrard's best years to work with and produce zero EPL titles.

Besides the CL title, it was a wasted 6 years. Gerrard is now 6 years older and winning the EPL title is just as far away.
You act like its guaranteed any manager would have won the league with our team and resources over those 6 years. Sorry, but its just not. Chelsea spending £150m in a season, ManU the richest club around, Arsenal run so well for so long, nobody could have guaranteed us the title. Gerrard or no Gerrard.

Given the starting position Rafa had, he turned us into one of the very very top teams in Europe, a team nobody else wanted to play and who consistently beat the best. That is unarguable, just look at our European co-efficient at the start of last season. Financially that was a huge boost for the club, and you could easily argue earnt him some of this money you're saying he wasted.

Yes in several of his seasons his team underperformed in the league, but in several of them we were pretty damn good too for long spells and at the end of 08-09 were poised to make than next step up having only just missed out that year. But by then the rug had already started being pulled. Our spending figures in the last 24 months are also unarguable. Unless you just arbitrarily make up figures....

Yes Rafa has made mistakes, bought players who haven't worked out and so on, and maybe his plan had seriously faltered last season more than it should have done. Maybe, were things not such a mess behind the scenes at the club, it had come the time for an amicable parting of the ways. But as for "G&H getting the right manager and spending some cash". You must be having a laugh. What the hell would possess you to think either of those is likely to happen?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

There should be a page available which lists the facts which anyone spouting media influenced bollocks can be referred to. It's boring having to repeat the same **** over and over again.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
