You think those sort of fees are gonna get us David Villa and Kaka?

Do you think Rafa would've been signing Kuyt and Babel if he'd been given proper backing in the market?

It's the same reason why Ferguson bought Valencia and Owen instead of Silva and Villa last summer - because his board have stopped backing him properly too. The difference is, he'd previously had decades of proper backing. Now that looks to have stopped, and as you can see, the mancs have stopped winning the title after 3 years on the spin.
So you think wasting 20M on two strikers turn wingers is justified?

      Thanks.

But now I'm confused. Which is it - cricket or Edmonton? It could be either since although, neither of them makes any logical sense in the context of the thread as a whole, on precisely the same grounds both fit perfectly with the rest of oldschool's argument.

      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

        Crouch was useless
        Laughable.

Go have a cry, at least I won't accept mediocrity from this once great club like yourself, maybe with Rafa now gone, it can return to it's former glory.

Maybe they were wingers who were being played out of position by their previous managers.

Regardless of how much money he has had to spend, it still doesn't alter the fact that he made some costly decisions, which may or may not have cost us fourth place last season and that for me is Rafa's fault.

He could have gone out and bought Ribery and Villa but it doesn't help if you start taking them off and resting them, in games you need to win.

Oh that must be it after all they have done such a fantastic job for us thus far on the wing.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                        Mine angry and defrauded young?

"Let's have a look at some of the crap he has brought (+5M)" Ok

£6.3m – Fernando Morientes - I, and almost every fan I know was made up with this one.

£6m – Craig Bellamy - I couldn't believe he brought him. - The mistake was selling him imo.

£6.7m – Jermaine Pennant - See above. - Yeah, a **** up from the off.

                          £9m – Dirk Kuyt - He isn't worth £9m for a winger. He is.

£11.5m – Ryan Babel - As above. - Poor choice of use for 11m, agree.

£7m – Andrea Dossena - He was doomed to fail from the start. - Decent pedegree, but I'll give you this one.

£19m – Robbie Keane - I wasn't convinced, but most on here were pretty happy at the time.

£8m – Albert Riera - Mixed views at the time. Were there any hints of his attitude before we bought him? If so, bad move, if not, so so.

                          £17.5m – Glen Johnson - £17.5m for a RB that can't defend ...- Good player, over-priced by about 5 million (less than Rafa's pay-off), but happy he's here.

£17.1m – Alberto Aquilani - If Rafa stayed I bet he would have got sold like Dossena, maybe now he will have half a chance to succeed. - Yeah, daft buy.

So not a clear set of transfer **** ups really.

Again, anyone would have gone with Jose's decisions re Shevchenko and Wright-Phillips, some times things don't work out. Ferguson's choices were laughable though.

I'm only stopping by to say Oldschool you are a ****ing prick and hopefully with Half Term nearly over we won't be hearing too much from you again soon.
