dont ask him questions like this craig he cant asnwer them as they dont support his view.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDo you honestly think it's realistic to take over a side that finished 4th, only spend £13m per season (when Chelsea and the mancs are spending an absolute tonne) and take that side from 4th to 1st in those circumstances?
and i am sure a few of us have used this argument with you but you wherent having it
is he your alter ego?

A pedant writes: I'm no supporter of theirs (or shareholder), but I should point out that, even after 13 years of Labour party education policy, there's no excuse for calling 39% a majority. They are the largest shareholder but clearly don't have a majority of the shares.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostAs a majority then they have the biggest say - good use of Wikipedia!
I didn't use Wikipedia in fact. I've just got a good memory and have seen the stat before

I find it quite strange the amount of people who now seem to be defending Rafa to the hilt over available funds, yet there doesn't appear to be any mention of the strange timing of his substitutions and often crazy tactical decisions.
I think a few may want to look back through some old post match threads.
Yes it is a sad day but anyone who is happy with finishing 7th needs to take their Rafa tinted specs off.
There were plenty of opportunities to kill games off, with an attacking display but yet he continued with the same old, in quite a few games.
How much did David Moyes spend, and they only finished two points behind us FFS.
He didn't get a minimum of 4th place and he needed to go, imo.

As i've said, when analysing all of the facts, my only problem with rafa was that he seemed to approach games against ****e sides, with an disproportionate sense of caution, which i feel made us drop points.Originally posted by Marsh View Postdont ask him questions like this craig he cant asnwer them as they dont support his view.

That, and his cast-iron refusal to adapt some of his mindset, including the above.
The £13m per season/£27m over the past 3 years things are facts, and have been quite eye-opening.
I dont think you can expect anyone to turn us into champions with that kind of laughable budget.
I do however, think that some of rafa's philosophies, including the over the top levels of caution and stubborness (which meant he wouldnt lessen his cautious mindset), cost us to a point.

We basically had the same team as the previous season where we came 2nd. Except this one had minus 1 player and added 2 players who cost around 20mill each give or take, and we came 7th. I dont think you need any kind of funds to do better then 7th with a 2nd placed team the season before. I hope our next manager is more attacking minded. 2 cautious managers in a row is more then enough in my book.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe it's not realistic, but he is expected to win. He took over before Gerrard hit his peak, was Owen sold off before Rafa started?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDo you honestly think it's realistic to take over a side that finished 4th, only spend £13m per season (when Chelsea and the mancs are spending an absolute tonne) and take that side from 4th to 1st in those circumstances?
Rafa can't spend Utd money unless he wins the league, or the marketing department comes up with a way to make us Utd type money. In the 6 years Rafa has had we are no closer to winning the league and if anything in a worse position, and now we have Gerrard in his final years.
We have had almost nothing come through the youth ranks in Rafa's time here.
I don't completely buy the fact that Rafa needed a huge budget over 6 years to deliver us a title, he had Gerrard before he hit his peak, he brought some decent players, but brought too many squad players and took too many gambles.

You have been given time and money to build the house and pool. That is a fact. Where is the house and pool? WHERE IS IT?!?!?!?Originally posted by oldschool View PostFFS, Rafa had a squad to start with and was given more than 5p to start with.
This comparison is laughable.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Wow, what a pile of ignorant ****e. Course we have been close, we have our 2 highest points totals in a period when the points needed to win the league has been at its highest ever and if we are in a worse postition, it is because the club is saddled with debt, I guess that is Rafa's fault.Originally posted by oldschool View PostMaybe it's not realistic, but he is expected to win.
