So there you have it, Rafa clearly had megabucks to spend! What a pillock

Souness should get his facts right!

What complete nonsense an article entitled "Graeme Souness: It will cost £1billion to put right Rafa's mess" then it says:

“They need to spend at least £100million to buy players good enough to challenge for the Premier League next year and the Champions League the season after that.

“After that they need around £300m to clear the club’s debts and at least another £400m to build a new stadium.
WTF?? How is it Rafa's fault that the owners put the club in debt to fund their purchase of it and that the club need a new stadium

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

To be fair to Graeme he does not categorically state "it will cost Liverpool £1bn to put right Rafa's mess" which leads me to believe the article is written, edited, quoted and misquoted in a way to rile up Liverpool fans.

****in Daily Star, what a piece of ****

Don't be ridiculous- you forget Rafa was present and gave the order for Jesus's crucifiction.

A joke of a newspaper. (If you can call it a newspaper.)

Aye, though the whol £140m thing ISA direct quote and still inexcusable.

I was actually looking through to find out what his actual quotes are and it's difficult to tell, I counted 22 open quotation marks and only 5 close quotation marks, so it's difficult to know what Souness said and what is the "journalist's" opinion. It's like a school punctuation exercise.

“It’s true, we are leaning towards Rafa Benitez and in the next few days we’ll decide,” confirmed Inter President Massimo Moratti.

The Spaniard is now free from his Liverpool contract after terminating the deal by mutual consent this week.

“I can only speak highly of him, because he is very talented,” Moratti told the Corriere dello Sport in an exclusive interview.

“It’s true, we are leaning towards Benitez and in the next few days we’ll decide.”

The Nerazzurri patron had originally wanted either Fabio Capello or Guus Hiddink, but both turned down the chance because they wish to complete their international work with England and Turkey respectively.

“I know Benitez has a good record against Jose Mourinho, I think he’s beaten him five times.

“That’s a sign he does his research, works well and above all does not get the big games wrong.

“It is also important that he has already made his mark in Europe. We want to achieve more in this area.”

It is reported that director Marco Branca will begin formal negotiations with Benitez today, as the former Liverpool Coach is currently in Sardinia on vacation.

He is expected to reach Milan tomorrow so that he can pen a contract by Tuesday.

Well i've seen more quality in some of the one line smiley posts than in many of those who take pages to say the same thing over and over, in the misguided belief that if they say it often enough, it must be true.
