Mattshark- Chelsea played 2 upfront alot this season.
Barcelona played 3 strikers and id say thats alot better than 1.
Real Madrid played Ronaldo and Higuain together upfront as a duo
I bet if Berbatov was any good then fergie would not have been forced to play Rooney alone
I never mentioned one striker, that is you jumping to conlcusions.
Remember saying at the time that I thought the Keane signing would make or break Rafa. Although not directly in the end, I think it was a major issue that undermined his reputation/credibility with the squad and fans to a degree.

If you create chances, it stands to reason that if you have two good finishers/strikers in the box, you'll probably convert more chances than if you've got just one.
But if you don't have anyone deeper/wider to put the ball in the box you'll have 2 strikers in there doing nothing.
There is on problem with the 4-2-3-1 system as long as the 3 are creative and support the one (something only SG has done on a regular basis).
Our problem has been as much the lack of service than lack of bodies in the box.
In the life, of a man, there are times and there are seasons.
There's a time to surf and there's a time to wax your board.
No
My point is that having a striker and an attacking mid would also be 2 players in there or even 1 striker, 1 attacking mid and the player from the other player
To be fair, if rafa had played a system with 8 strikers, or a system with no strikers at all, either way, you'd be on here arguing its merits.

Hence why i included the caveat of 'if you create chances'.

Ronaldo is not a real striker.
Yes he is. He is striker because he played upfront for Real Madrid alongside Higuain and he scores 30-35 goals a season. All sorts of goals. Every type of goal.
I'm not a Chelsea expert but I bet you'll find that the majority of Chelsea's formations this year were a kind of 4-5-1/4-3-3 hybrid. Where Malouda, Drogba, and Anelka played as a forward 3. So not dissimilar (on paper) to our system.

FFS!! When I read your edited post I thought you meant I had typo'd in my post and you had corrected it I then re-read my post about five times without spotting anything before I realised what you meant in the first place
