I really don't agree, that could've been Houllier's ways of trying to man Roy up as he thought his number 2 would need to be. Don't forget Roy allowed the Ince situation to occur and it was also Roy who allowed the players to have their mobiles glued to their ears during training...the squad behaviour was a shambles.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOkay, let's look at this way.
Houllier says this:
Roy Evans, an altogether more decent and honest fella than Houllier, said once exactly the opposite. He said when difficult decisions arose Houllier would vanish and leave the tough stuff to Roy, and watched him take a lot of flak.
So one of them is lying, and I know who I believe.
Houllier is a fantasist, a borderline loony.Play Ball!!!!!!!

Albeit I could argue that the Champions league is worth more that a UEFA cup and a couple of league cups, I’d be very surprised that a player would gloat about the lack of trophies they won, regardless of who was in charge of the club.Originally posted by Taxi View PostSilverware totals I presumeIf we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

that is ****ing shocking - what a shame he's become such a joke.....he talks about the liverpool boot room and tradition, yet slates our previous manager who won us the European Cup!
I seriously seriously doubt one of the current players text him out of the blue, what like 6 years or so since houiller left, calling him boss and saying "he never beat you" ****ing bollocks - out of the current squad, who was left from Ged's era? Gerrard and Carra who, imo are Liverpool through and through and would have played for us regardless of the manager, and who also i think, aren't so bitter and twisted that they would send that sort of message......bollocks.
And even if they did! what is houllier claiming he has won here? - this is a guy who sadly lost the ****ing plot at liverpool towards the end, as been struggling for a job for 3 years, and just comes across as man desperate to be in the media - i just googled his name, and there is also an interview from him in the last day or so slagging of england and blaming wayne rooney - **** off ged, it's got ****ing nothing to do with you.....by all means as an ex france manager comment on the **** that happened to them, but don't go spouting **** about England.
I also really don't like the way he uses the line about being ill, and signing el hadji diouf and salif diao, trying to get some sympathy and deflect the attention away from two major **** ups....
Yes Houllier came in, steadied the ship, and put us back on the map a bit with the three cups in 2001 - but the slating of both the previous manager (evans) and the following manager (benitez) is disgraceful, classless and bitter....
His on going dispute at ginola is embarrasing..........who the **** does he think he is...
lets not forget the stories in fowlers book too.....Last edited by PTP; 20-07-10, 03:30 PM.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Can't argue with any of that - we all know Roy's failings but one thing I don't believe he is is a liar. Houllier is a proven mentalist.Originally posted by Taxi View PostI really don't agree, that could've been Houllier's ways of trying to man Roy up as he thought his number 2 would need to be. And let's remember, Ginola gave the ball away. He just gave the ball away. And it wasn't even a stray pass. He crossed the ball instead of taking it to the corner flag. That's it. Houllier is a disgrace, he should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself.Originally posted by Gerard HoullierDavid Ginola is the murderer of the team ... he sent an Exocet missile through the heart of French football ... ****ing right, in God's book he clearly says that Houllier was undermining Evans, changing the time the coach left by 15 mins and was never there to tell a player why he was left out etc... leaving it all to Evans.
No doubt Houllier changed the diet and the attitude at training but was it soley his idea to build the new training facilities (I honestly don't know)
He also let Owen run his contract down and signed more french dross then I care to remember.
Houllier is a class 1 bitter prick. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Houllier's legacies are the club's facilities and training regimes.
Any manager worth his salt would have done that. He's bitter because he isn't held in as high in the supporter's esteem compared to Rafa.

Was it not also Houllier that put a stop to ex-players dropping in before matches or at training to offer support, probably causing the xenophobic attitude towards Rafa as well as killing these ‘bootroom’ traditions.
In fact, did he not officially close the bootroom?

Yes he did, actually. He's clearly a mentalist.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWas it not also Houllier that put a stop to ex-players dropping in before matches or at training to offer support, probably causing the xenophobic attitude towards Rafa as well as killing these ‘bootroom’ traditions.
