They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!
I've been impressed by Krisztian Adorjan everytime I seen him play. May not have the skills or pace of Sterling and Silva but he is a very intelligent player with a knack for passes.
Liverpool FC have today announced that they are to participate in a prestigious U19′s Champions League next season.
This tournament will see the best LFC youngsters come up against the best youngsters from around the world and will start in August.
LFC’s Academy Director, Frank McParland said “On August 17 we start the U19 Champions League.
“We will play the first game of it against Sporting Lisbon. Hopefully that will be played at Anfield. We’ll have to see what the first-team fixture list throws up first of all, but that is the plan.
“I don’t have a definitive list of the teams involved but I know Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Lyon are looking to play in it.
“It’s all about our reserves going to a new level next season. We are trying to pit them against top, top opposition.
“Hopefully we will play most of our games with the reserves at the Academy. We would hope to play the Champions League matches at Anfield but we will have to see about that.
“We’ll still be in the domestic league too but this will offer them the chance to play in front of big crowds and against a higher quality of opposition.”

In the 7/8 games I've seen him this season I've got to agree. He's been the quiet, conventional playmaker which everyone's overlooked. His build is like Nasri and like him he knows how to use his strength and vision. His set piece delivery is great as well, again understated.
Tomkins has been saying that Ayala has had a great season at Derby. Anyone seen him? I reckon he can make the grade next season, maybe easing him in as Carra's replacement.
I'm really excited at the prospect of a junior champions league. It's exactly what our players need and will also make for some really interesting viewing (assuming it will be on TV which I'm sure it will). It's strange that with the football authorities being so hell bent on milking every penny out of the game that they haven't turned under 18/19/21 football in to a huge commercial junior version of the senior game like college sports in the US.

My feeling is that it is exactly this sort of opportunity that is attracting US investors to PL teams. They see that the Champions League final stages, for example generates, about a fifth of the revenue of the NFL playoffs/Super Bowl despite having a/ a global reach and b/ at least comparable if not greater viewing figures. It will be interesting to see how much control they exert in future with regards to how the game develops strategically.
