Yeah just saw the replay, defo penalty.

Sloppy defensively tho and that Conor Coady might be a good prospect but he's a right moany **** at times, was constantly throwing tantrums and mouthing off at his team-mates.

This will be a positive experience for them though, to be involved in a title chase and for the club this might not matter wheather they finish 1st or 2nd, the experience is the significant factor.

He's definitely still struggling with that unjury. Heard it mentioned a few times now.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has suggested the England-Under 21 side should not be using players they have already helped into the seniors.

Andy Carroll has been named in Stuart Pearce's provisional 40-man squad for next month's European Championships finals in Denmark, even though he has broken into Fabio Capello's senior squad in the past few months.

Dalglish insists he does not want to become embroiled in a club-versus-country row, but he did outline his views on the set-up as a whole.

"For me, the benefit of having younger teams is to use them to get the best players into the full team - exactly the same way it is at club level as it is at international," he said.

"Andy has played a number of games for the younger teams, Under-21s and Under-19s, and he has played for the full international team, so it has certainly served its purpose in his development.

"The important thing is not to win a competition, it is to get people progressing through it (the system)."

Dalglish added that the emergence of teenagers John Flanagan and Jack Robinson into the Liverpool first team in recent weeks is more important than success for their Under-18 side, who missed out on topping their group after drawing with Wolves on Friday afternoon.

"Our youth team have just drawn 2-2 and finished second in their league when they had an opportunity to go first," he said. "I suppose we'll get the blame because we have taken Flanagan and Robinson away from them.

"But for us that is more progress than what it would have been to have won the youth division they were in and got no players through.

"I don't see it being any different for anyone else."

Absolutely agree with him. It's the same dumb attitude they have in the seniors where they would rather recall some 35 year old moose instead of biting the bullet and putting through some young players, they moan about foreign players ruining the England team but then don't utilise what we have. As far as I'm concerned neither Carroll or Wilshere should be anywhere near the under 21s anymore, it's ****ing pointless, counter productive and against all sensible thinking that it's about developing and not winning. What we going to do, have a national holiday when the ****ing under 21s win a major tournament. ****ing football! </rant>

As usual Kenny couldn't be more right.

Kenny always seems to get it spot on

Side note: I wonder what rival fans opinion is of Kenny back in management so far. With our red tinted spectacles on it's hard to judge impartially, but surely they can see he's been an absolute breath of fresh air to the Premier League?

LFC have eight out of the 18 players named for the english team in a U-19 tournamnet in Switzerland.
The seven are:Conor Coady, Jack Robinson, John Flanagan, Michael Ngoo, Andre Wisdom, Tom Ince og Jonjo Shelvey.
So the academy looks like it`s starting to produce.
