A John McMahon managed Liverpool XI take on Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Tuesday night and you can watch the whole game exclusively live on LFC TV.

Kick-off is at 7pm and Kop hero and former Tranmere manager John Aldridge will be our guest summariser.

McMahon's reserves will again be playing their home games at Prenton Park and this will be a good test for his team against Les Parry's League One outfit.

LFC TV is currently FREE to watch in the UK on Sky channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).

You can also watch LFC TV online with our fantastic e-Season Ticket package.

A Liverpool XI maintained their impressive pre-season form with a hard-fought 2-0 win at Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

The John McMahon managed side created the better chances throughout the match and deservedly took the spoils courtesy of an own goal from David McNamara and a clinical finish from David Amoo.

The Reds had arrived at Prenton Park having already secured a Senior Cup double this summer and, with as many as seven players returning from first-team duty, they kicked off the contest in buoyant mood.

However, it was the home side who were first to threaten as Adam McGurk fizzed in a shot that Dean Bouzanis was forced to save inside 60 seconds.

The visitors responded and a marauding run from Amoo saw the winger surge from within his own penalty area before teeing up Nikola Saric 20 yards out, but the striker saw his attempted strike well blocked by a Rovers defender.

There was a vibrant style to Liverpool's attacking play in the early stages and on 12 minutes they put together a sublime move that should have resulted in the opening goal. A sensational pass from Suso allowed Tom Ince to power down the left and deliver a sublime cross that Saric seemed all-set to guide home, only to misjudge the flight of the ball at the last second.

It was a miss that was followed by a lull in the proceedings until Max Power drilled a shot straight at Bouzanis after a neat exchange with Ryan Fraughan on the half hour mark.

Back up the other end and a long throw caught the Rovers backline at sixes and sevens, allowing Ince to race through and crash a volley over the top from a tight angle.

Fraughan then lashed a 20 yard strike inches past the post before Saric saw his flicked header cleared off the line as the first 45 ended with a flurry of chances.

McMahon's half-time team talk would no doubt have seen him urge his charges to regain the composure that had seen them exert their authority in the early stages of the contest.

The introduction of flamboyant Portuguese star, Toni Silva was a sign of the coach's intent and the teenager could well have been celebrating the opening goal himself, had McNamara not stabbed Amoo's low cross into his own net soon after the restart.

It was an early blow for the hosts but they should have levelled immediately when Jay Gibbs contrived to guide a free header from a right-wing corner way off target.

It would be as close as they would come to threatening an upset as Liverpool stepped up a gear and started to play the more controlled football.

Silva almost doubled the advantage with a blockbusting strike that Joe Collister was pleased to see crash into his midriff, before the away side put together an incisive move that put them firmly in control.

Another great piece of vision from Suso sent Ince clear and when the winger unselfishly crossed for Amoo, the forward had the simplest task of slipping a first-time shot past Collister.

At this point the Reds were well in ascendancy and Collister had to be at his best to beat away substitute Alex Cooper's venomous long range strike.

To their credit, Tranmere kept plugging away and almost reduced the arrears on 70 minutes when McGurk flashed an effort wide of Bouzanis' far post.

But it was Liverpool's day and Suso could have capped a fine showing with a spectacular drive that came within a whisker of nestling in the left-hand corner of Collister's net.

Liverpool XI: Dean Bouzanis, John Flanagan, Jack Robinson, Victor Palsson (Alex Cooper 46), Andre Wisdom (c) (Conor Coady 60), Daniel Ayala, David Amoo (Michael Ngoo 77), Steven Irwin, Nikola Saric (Toni Silva 46), Suso, Tom Ince (Gerardo Bruna 70). Unused subs: Deale Chamberlain.

Sounds like Suso ripped it up last night

Liverpool ended their Irish tour with a 5-1 thumping against Dungannon Swifts on Thursday night.

Spanish starlet Suso had an excellent 90 minutes and found the net with a fine effort.

Danish youth international Nikola Saric, Academy duo Tom Ince and Michael Roberts were also on target while an own goal completed the scoring.

Liverpool Reserves boss John McMahon said: "It was a pleasing performance and we showed a lot of quality out there.

"We had some exciting build-up play and scored some really good goals.

"It was a good way to finish off an excellent tour."

Liverpool Reserves team: Dean Bouzanis, John Flanagan, Jack Robinson, Chris Mavinga, Andre Wisdom, Michael Roberts (Nicolaj Kohlert 60), Tom Ince, Steven Irwin, Nikola Saric (Alex Cooper 65), Suso, Alex Kacaniklic (Emmanuel Mendy 45).

Roy Hodgson was an interested spectator as Liverpool Reserves secured a 4-1 friendly success over Celtic on Tuesday afternoon.

The Reds boss took time out his pre-Trabzonspor preparations to cast his eye over the second-string and he would have been more than impressed as they ran out comfortable winners courtesy of goals from Tom Ince, Suso, Victor Palsson and Alex Kacaniklic.

On a rain soaked day at the club's Academy, it was Ince who opened the scoring when he finished off a fine move on five minutes.

However, Celtic responded and drew level soon after when the home side failed to deal with a right-wing cross to the far post.

Nikola Saric then went close to restoring the advantage when he guided a header wide before Suso maintained his fine pre-season form by firing beyond the 'keeper on 26 minutes.

The Reds continued to dominate throughout the remainder of the first 45 and should have made it three on the stroke of the interval when they put together the move of the match.

Ince toyed with the Celtic defence before clipping a delightful ball into the path of Suso. The Spanish ace feigned a shot and then crossed low for Amoo, but he failed to convert on the stretch.

The second half mirrored the first, with Liverpool well in the ascendancy and after substitute Lauri Dalla Valle twice went close, Palsson saw his speculative 30 yarder spilled into his own net by the Celtic 'keeper.

As the clocked ticked down the visitors rarely looked like reducing the arrears and in the last minute substitute Kacaniklic raced through, rounded the 'keeper and put the icing on the cake.

Liverpool Reserves: Gulacsi, Darby, Robinson (Mendy 61), Wisdom, Mavinga (Flanagan 46),Roberts (Palsson 46), Irwin (Cooper 61), Ince, Saric (Dalla Valle 46), Suso, Amoo (Kacaniklic 46).

See Suso is doing the business again.

GLad to see Kacaniklic getting on scoresheet to, apparently he didnt have the best of seasons last year, but when i saw him he looked an awesome talent.

There is quality throughout that reserve team, Very excited to see some of our youngsers hopefully get some run outs this year.

Palsson was rated very highly by Rafa

If he's not going to be up and around the 1st team squad then a season/half season loan where he gets some decent game time would help.

Liverpool have agreed a deal to take 14-year-old Oldham starlet Iaia Embarlo to Anfield for a sum of £25,000.

The Portuguese striker, who attended the Latics' centre of excellence, has moved for that initial fee with further add-ons included in the deal.

Embarlo is the latest youngster to leave Boundary Park for the the Barclays Premier League, following Tom Eaves' move to Bolton earlier this month.

Anyone watched much of Sterling recently?

He really is a great talent, at 15 he is ripping everyone else to shreds down the wing - they cant handle him, never mind getting the ball off him.

He looked pretty good on the academy programme last night. Villa's defenders even did a Canniggia on him - the 3rd defender who had a swipe totally cleaned him out!!!!

On a side not Ngoo looked a handful and took his goals well - admittedly he was about 2ft taller than anybody else!!!
