Ha ha, I like your style Frank. I promised myself I wouldn’t do it this year, as every year for as long as I remember, when I break down our squad I always have us winning the league. Last year was such a crushing blow, really devastated me for a few months, and with all the other crap going on this year I was preparing myself for the worst this year.

It’s hard not to get excited though, and although I won’t be as public with expectations this year, secretly I’ll be thinking the same as you.

Slightly random question here, but what sort of accent does Kelly Dalglish (sorry johnly, Cates) have and where did she get it from? Surely she’d have spent most of her time growing up in Liverpool and Glasgow, yet couldn’t sound any more different to both.

I know it’s a weird thing to be thinking about, but it’s something that’s been annoying me for a while.

She would have spent just about all her life growing up in Birkdale, as opposed to Liverpool, and does indeed have the kind of accent I'd expect from that area. One of my mates is from that area and he sounds very similar

We have hungry young players eager to prove that they are capable of becoming world class players for LFC for years to come - players like Lucas, Babel, Shelvey, Kelly, Pacheco, Ngog, Dalla Valle, maybe even Speering........and going a bit younger still, the likes of Steerling, COady, Wisdom, Ince and Amoo............

I just downloaded this match and what a blast! While the opposition wasn't top class, it did show what we are hoping to achieve this season with a deep lying Gerrard/Aquilani feeding a live wire Joe Cole, Jovanivich, Maxi and Torres.

Looking at the players we have at our disposal, there is every chance we could mount a serious challenge this season and we have decent cover in most positions and I'm really looking forward to it. Let's hope Roy has the players believing in themselves.
