Why can't we try Babel and Kuyt in the position of strikers again?
Now that Hodgson seems happy to use the attacking options as they should be, we have more than enough, to let these two play a more forward central role.
I'd love to see babel given a run up front instead of wide left

Kuyt could play up front in a front two, but not as a lone striker. I still don't think we know Babel's best position...

N'Gog was good last night, he found the space all the time, had technique, pace and hold the ball, not to mention goal and penalty. He's is erratic at the times but Torres at his age wasn't banging goals for fun was he or neither was Rooney. I am trying to think better and potentially better 21 year old strikers who's value was 1.5 million.
And he surely is better than Zamora or Kalou. Not ready to lead the lines by himself for the season but lot's of potential and developing all the time.
He's not. But that's ok because neither of those two cost only £1.5m.
Martin Kelly was my man of the match. To give a performance like that out of position is exceptional. Joe Cole was good too. Thought Pacheco was very unlucky on a few occasions, the imagination was their and he was trying things but just unlucky with his execution.
I think we have to realise that the quality of opposition wasn't very good so no point judging players on last night. We actually should have scored 4 or 5
Bolton still managed only a 2-1 aggregarte win over them a couple of seasons ago.
It was our general movement that excited me. We seem to play with lots more freedom, Roys Philospophy seems to be go do what you wasnt as long as you do oyour main bob right!
He must have said disciplined half a dozen times in the interview afterwards obviously key to him!!
I am very excited about this season, after a frustrating season under rafa and I honestly believe his approach was strangling the life out of some players, they maybe revitalised this season.
Joe Cole is going to be PFA player of the year 25/1 he looks like he has a point to prove to Ancelotti and Capello.

I thought we played the right sort of game against poor opposition, however the way we played yesterday would have been exposed pretty badly by a better team I feel. There appeared to be loads of gaps when they made half breaks - better teams would have exploited them.
Job done and people looked pretty lively. Very obvious that they hadn't played together much though.

Slightly random question here, but what sort of accent does Kelly Dalglish (sorry johnly, Cates) have and where did she get it from? Surely she’d have spent most of her time growing up in Liverpool and Glasgow, yet couldn’t sound any more different to both.
I know it’s a weird thing to be thinking about, but it’s something that’s been annoying me for a while.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Time's the draw today?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
optimism could be a bit premature but i have feckin loads of it.....
We have one of the best keepers in the world (in the top 3 or4 deffo),
We have some great defenders like Carra, Agger and i would also class skrtel in that.....not to mention the attacking full back powers of Glen Johnson.....
We have Gerrard with the bit between his teeth again, eager to prove he is the main man and can run the game from the middle of the park as opposed to being used as a support striker.....
We have a committed torres to come back, hopefully to have an injury-free season, and tear up the goal-scoring records.....
We have a rejuvinated world cup finalist in Kuyt that will be eager to come back and maybe prove that he can play up front for LFC.....
And Aquilani, who will no doubt want to prove he can cut it in English football, and be regarded as accomplished alongside the likes of Gerrard, torres, cole.......
We have Joe Cole.....eager to prove that he is world class and that the likes of Mourinho, Capello and Ancelotti are idiots...........
We have hungry young players eager to prove that they are capable of becoming world class players for LFC for years to come - players like Lucas, Babel, Shelvey, Kelly, Pacheco, Ngog, Dalla Valle, maybe even Speering........and going a bit younger still, the likes of Steerling, COady, Wisdom, Ince and Amoo............
Pacheo, looking more like a 'man' these days...coming of age nicely... will imo get games this season, and will hopefully be made to feel a true part of the 1st team sqaud...high hopes for this fella.
It's a 2 leg tie next then the group stage isn't it?
