Its probably an age thing. As people get older, they become disillusioned, and miserable. Perhaps we should ban anyone over 40.
I'm all for a society segregated by age. For example it should also be illegal to drive anything more powerful than a golf cart once you get over the age of 60. Also pensioners shouldn't be allowed out the house, but for allocated yard time. They especially shouldn't be allowed in supermarkets and shops until they either master the art of not walking directly in the middle of the aisles, accept that supermarkets aren't social settings or learn to unpack their trolleys and repack their bags at a reasonable pace
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Not sure, but I doubt it's very many. I miss standing on the Kop too, although I graduated to the Main Stand and then Kemlyn Rd/Centenary Stand when I could afford it. On the Kop me and my mates stood in the same place week in, week out and always saw the same familiar faces around us, as everybody seemed to gravitate to the same couple of square feet that they always stood on.

When I started going all-ticket games were pretty rare and, as far as I remember, were usually only games against Everton, or FA Cup ties against the bigger clubs. Nevertheless you had to get to the stadium pretty early and we would roll up at about 1230 for a 3 pm kick-off, as the big games would often sell-out by 2 pm.

One thing that's changed dramatically is the cost of getting in. I used to pay 4 shillings to stand on the Kop - that's just 20p these days. Even allowing for inflation I'm sure it's many, many times more expensive these days in real terms

I think it should be illegal to drive whilst wearing a hat. All "hatties" seem to drive at 20 mph or, on motorways, at 55 mph in the middle lane, even if the inside lane is completely deserted.

And, a cull of young people is required when they drive around the streets with windows rolled down and very, very bad music playing loudly. Why do they think we want to share their appalling taste? I will personally volunteer to be the one to turn on the flame-thrower while a very-bad-music-blaring-from-car miscreant is lined up against a wall

          Exactly what Craig said.
          I live just outside Reading.
I might get slated for this especially as a new lad around here but i'll admit to there being 3 or 4 seasons where I was working 3 jobs, had sh*t happening in my life where I did get a little out of touch with what was going on at the club.

I'd like to think people can see that as just the way life goes sometimes and not be all judgemental.

On the other hand I also don't really get wound up by the part time fans who never really know wtf is going on at the club, or even who or when our next fixture is.
I don't mind them at all really providing they aren't reading the sun.

It's nothing to do with whether someone is local or an OOTer, it's just about whether they're enough of a fan to make themselves aware of things about the club, or not.
