I think tactically they are very different, but I get the impression they do the same job behind the scenes, just Houllier was too eager to massage ego's, which might have been a bad thing for gerrards growth.

Houllier had my sympathy in that he wanted to take us places badly for the fans, not just for himself, and he didn't want to let go when it became evident that he couldn't take us any further.

I would never compare that idiot with Rafa.

Rafa aint perfect but in no way should he be compared with Ged, who was, in the simplest terms, an abject failure. And then he was rewarded with £10m.

we have two differing opinions. thats football for you. Imo both approach big matches with a fear factor, both change their teams to accomodate the opposition, both set out not to lose rather than to try to win, both speak english poorly.

Nicely rounded off with them both unable to speak English properly.

Watching it on lfc.tv as we speak. Yes he does look bothered. Obviously he knows he's under pressure. Hope he gets us out of this mini rut.

Walk on RAFA we're with ya.

I think he's made errors of course. I didn't like some of the players he brought in this Summer, and I don't much like rotation whether we're winning or losing.

But he looked not himself at all

Its the most downtrodden I've seen him since he came here.

So for all our unhappiness at the moment with results and performances, I say lets unite behind Rafa.

Sure we can moan and discuss stuff here on a forum with our mates. But he's one of us, he's been very successful for us, and its at times like now when he needs us the most.

I'm not going to go in for the hero worship stuff. He'll make mistakes and has done. In discussion I'll point them out because its what a forum is designed for.

But Rafa's one of us now. I think he's finding life hard at the moment. It shows in his face, and in his eyes.

It's up to us to stand with him now and give him the support his record deserves.

If he is finding times hard, its our job to give him the will to succeed and put everything right.

Here's to Rafa, warts and all, our most successful manager for many a year.

                    Great post Al.

I watched it and I felt sad. He works so ****ing hard to earn success for Liverpool FC and it must be unusual for him to be under this kind of pressure. People won't be surprised to hear I think he's the man for the job and if given the time and backing then he'll do it for us. 10 or 12 wank performances this season won't change my regard for the man.

He's easily the best manager we've had since "the rot" set in and we should cherish him and ****ing get behind him. He was born to manage LFC.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Its that last point that sits very uneasy with me. He tried, he fell short, but at least he did a lot of good for the direction of the club.

After the likes of Daio, Diouf etc. i'd personally feel a little guilty taking that amount off the club - he apparently loves so dearly! Especially given he must know better than most the state of our finances.

So tempted to say he was born to manage Real Madrid, but i wont.

I notice Rafa mentioned how after we lost to Burnley the 2005 Liverpool team was "the worst in 40 years". Hansen should hang his head in shame (I think he's the one that said it).

Yes, perhaps a little crude, I'll confess.

He is putting on the weight though, have you seen his belly bouncing around on the touchline these days ?

                              Cant be healthy.

No it was after Crouch ripped us apart at St Mary's Hansen said it was our worst away performance for 40 years. We won the next game and Rafa responded with "I think it was our best performance for 40 years" and then added the ultimate 'shut the **** up' comment to Hansen with the phrase "but then i haven't seen all the tapes"

As for uniting behind him- damn straight!

As for feeling sorry for him, no I don't either.
