        Yes

Good thing we didn't meet Atletico, as there is absolutely no chance Torres would stay fit, think there is a curse with us meeting our players former clubs. Now if we could set up a friendly against a certain Brazilian club

Yes he did. That's the club he started his professional career.

Meanwhile, Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt still holds out some hope that he will be able to face his former side Utrecht in the Europa League on September 30. Kuyt has been ruled out for around a month with a shoulder injury sustained on international duty with Netherlands.

"I hope I will make it (for Utrecht) but it all depends on how the injury heals in the first few days," Kuyt said. "I have made a thousand of these moves before without any problems."

Ive just started following NotLucasLeiva21, hes brilliant. If only all footballers tweeed like that.

International breaks are ****e. Bring on Birmigham. Will be a good away win, as long as Mr Roy doesnt play 442 again. Staggeringly Naive.

Depressed. I miss Rafa and his cold shoulder. The haunting ballads of Morrissey are keeping me going. Whom ive actually met, and offended
And the stuff about Reinas poker night is priceless!

Hodgson believes that there is a chance that Kuyt could be sidelined for longer.

He told the club's official website:"It could be more than four weeks. It's one of those injuries where it's very difficult for the doctor to say and I think four weeks is a very conservative estimate.

"If we're lucky it could be earlier, but it could be longer. We have to be very careful because it's the type of injury that has to be treated with a lot of respect.

"It's a great blow for us because Dirk is an important member of our first team. He does a job which is not easy to replace because he has all the qualities required for that role on the field.

"I was very sad to see such a thing happen, especially in a training session.

"He's a quick mender and he has a great mentality and attitude towards recovery, so he will be back as quick as is humanly possible."

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is on course to return sooner than expected from a shoulder injury.

The 30-year-old sustained the problem on international duty just over a fortnight ago and was expected to be out of action for a month. However, manager Roy Hodgson believes the Dutchman could be selected in Saturday's squad to face Sunderland or feature on next week's Europa League trip to Kuyt's former club Utrecht.

"Dirk has trained the last couple of days," said Hodgson. "We're trying to protect him a little bit but he's made a remarkable recovery, so it'll be interesting to see how he progresses on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in relation to Saturday's game and the game next Thursday."

He added: "We thought three to five weeks, so we're at the quick end of the scale."

I’m telling you, instead of throwing millions away on hundreds of kids who are never gonna make it, we should just pay 11 low rate prostitutes to go sleep with Dirk. It should only take one attempt as Dirks wee tadpoles would keep swimming all day until they get the job done, then hey presto, 17 years later we have a team of superhuman invincibles. We could call them Dick, Dunk, Dom, Dave, Dee, Dale, Dan, Dean, Des, Duke and Dong.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah, it's great not to have someone who gives his all for the side

He was badly missed at Old Trafford.

Especially with Maxi contributing precisely nothing. Dirk would've made a difference both offensively and defensively. I suspect Roy is of the impression Dirk can't come back soon enough.
