That is a big statement of intent if true. I respect Roy's gutsy call (win and nothing else) and I only can hope it doesn't backfire.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI was surprised Roy brought Ngog on to play with Nando the other night - I'll be mega ****ing surprised if we start away at City with those two together. They don't strike me as a pair, not in the slightest. 4-4-2 would be a massive call.
I am afraid that may be the case.Originally posted by Zapater View PostWe are ****edMember #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

IF Mascher has refused to travel then just let him rot in the reserves, he has 2 years left and hopefully by the time his contract ends we'll have new owners and won't be bothered by him going on a free.
The point is selling Mascher is only worth considering if Roy has the time to reinvest some/all of the money into strengthening the team, if we don't have time to do that then it is pointless selling him.
That is if we didn't buy Poulson from the money we were expecting to receive from his sale.
Let's see how the captain of Argentina takes playing reserve team football because he'll soon get dropped by his country
Edit: Let's loan him back to West Ham to see how he likes playing in their ressies againThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I am getting concerned too.Originally posted by Rudo View PostI honestly fear for us tonight. No Masch, an unfit and untested Poulsen, a very odd partnership in N'gog and Torres. What the hell is going on fellas?
Doesn't sound good at all.
I guess will have to wait and see how things will pan out.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Poulson is not physically unfit, if he was if wouldn't be playing. If anything he's not match fit which you only get by playing games.
Agreed on the partnership up front but we'll have lots of pace which hopefully Roy is trying to take advantage of.
A little trust and faith in the manager at this time would be good.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

As somone said earlier, surely the Europa game on thursday and the WBA game would be the matches for Poulsen to play in and get his match sharpness and get used to his team-mates etc.
Stunned that Torres and N'gog are both starting away from home against top quality opposition.
Just hope it all works out but it can't be a surprise if people are doubting it will.

Well said mate
If the Masherano rumours are true then I assume those vehemently defending him on accusations he's a cunt will change their mind.

He can't win can he. Everyone wants us to play attractive attacking football and then when he does play 2 up front there is something wrong with it. Ngog has been playing really well and could make a very nice partnership with Torres, if the Macherano rumours are true then there isn't much option but to play Poulson.Originally posted by Rudo View PostEver supporter has the right to question a managers team selection, it happens.

I have absolutely no problem with this team selection and it's about time we started playing our game rather than just nullifying/countering the opposition.

However with it being our first away game of the season, against top quality players, i'd go with the more cautious approach, well not cautious approach but not two strikers.
The option of Lucas instead of Poulsen was there
