If we keep hold of him beyond August, i cant see him just permanently going on strike. He'd be stuck here til January anyway, so would he really sit there for 4 months doing nothing? Even by his standards, he'd look a complete cunt to everyone in the industry, to all fans, to sponsors and anyone else you care to mention.
I cant envisage him doing that.
Having said that, i think we're going to end up selling him before the close of the window, for about £16m, which will be a ****ing joke.

basically if he refuses to play we should refuse to pay his wages.Originally posted by Rudo View PostThe thing is, doesn't the Club have an agreement with Mascherano that he won't be sold unless we receive an acceptable offer(£25m?) so whats changed?
He's acting like a complete tool and being as disrespectful as possible to the Club that still employ him.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

He obviously felt confident that Barca or Inter would come in with an offer that LFC would accept - whether that means he expected them to pay £25m ish, or whether he expected us to accept something stupid, like £16m, i dunno.Originally posted by Rudo View PostThe thing is, doesn't the Club have an agreement with Mascherano that he won't be sold unless we receive an acceptable offer(£25m?) so whats changed?

In any case, Barcelona's first offer isnt going to be their final offer. They'll go to about £16m or so, IMO.
SSN just confirmed, Mascherano not on the Liverpool team bus.
Maybe i'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here, but i hope it's just the injury that saw him come off against Arsenal.
I'm sure Sky will ask Roy when he does his pre match interview.

Yes.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe cant sack him, he's worth too much - we'd never retrieve his full transfer value if we tried to sue him. And plus, do we really want to drag this kind of thing through the courts?
We need to put the foot down if true.
By the way Chelsea sued Mutu for breach of contract and got £14m out of £15m in damages..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
