Stunned that Torres and N'gog are both starting away from home against top quality opposition.

Just hope it all works out but it can't be a surprise if people are doubting it will.
Yeah except they aren't Roy Hodgson. They haven't seen Poulsen training on a day to day basis. I think at this early stage in Roys Liverpool career I'll trust him to do what is best.

Besides surely the Masher situation has ****ed the original plans?

Personally i'd have brought Maxi into the team, playing just ahead of Gerrard and Lucas and supporting Torres.

But it's that the team, then we just have to trust Roy's judgement.

No real choice do we, the proof is in the pudding so to speak anyway, and not long till we get to taste.

Personally i think City are starting to look a very powerful squad, but i have my doubts about the managers ability to get the best out of them.
Just hope they don't click tonight is all.

cant believe masher has refused to play tonight.

Apparently the bid on the table is £12.2m plus hleb and martin caceres. Hleb is too old and caceres although once highly rated hasnt convinced anyone.

I think he was on loan somewhere could be italy or germany but didnt cover himself in any glory.

How funny would it be Mascher was named in the starting line-up and everyone here overreacted for nothing.......

he went to Juve and had a few injuries. He is a Right back though i think? what do we want a RB for?

and **** hleb, probably scored about 6 goals in last 5 years.

Hang on, I thought Poulsen WASN'T playing, despite Masher not doing?

That's what I could see as being weird??

We wouldn't be the only ones that were fooled:

                    I guess we'll find out around 7.

I wouldnt have a problem with N'Gog and Torres - obviously Nando is amazing and N'Gog is scoring goals and full of confidence.

I worry that the City backline might be able to outmuscle and bully N'Gog, but we'll see.

If it's true about Mascherano, then he's a cock for refusing to play. Little ****.

If we've dropped him because we're going to sell - and if the Barca bid is only £12m, then that's bollocks and doesnt make sense. We cant sell for half his true value, it'd be a joke. But then, if we arent selling, he's no use to us if he's refusing to play.

The little **** is going to go on strike until we sell him - and Barca know this, so wont lower their offer. So what's best for us, keeping a player who refuses to play, or selling him for peanuts?

IF it's true that he's refusing to play, that is - still seems irrational to me, he's a fiercely competitive player and has said time and again, he doesnt have a problem with the club.

caceres plays left back or can fill in at centre back but if they bid £18m plus those two then you could think about it.

£12m is a joke and if we sell for that then im sorry but the club is going nowhere. You cant give in every time a player spits his dummy out - let him rot in the reserves until he sees sense.

until then we have players who actually want to play for the club.

                        Its absolutely unforgiveable.

If he refuses to play, he should be sacked, and then sued for a LOT of money.

We cant sack him, he's worth too much - we'd never retrieve his full transfer value if we tried to sue him. And plus, do we really want to drag this kind of thing through the courts?

The thing is, doesn't the Club have an agreement with Mascherano that he won't be sold unless we receive an acceptable offer(£25m?) so whats changed?

He's acting like a complete tool and being as disrespectful as possible to the Club that still employ him.
